Man, if I was a soccer ref I would red card so many players for running up and yelling at me. It's amazing that the players can get away with that ****

I don't know anything about soccer why don't we like Brazil? the penalty shot was the most exciting part of the game man

Because Brazil has won enough. Plus, during this tournament they're going to get more calls in their favor than the Habs do in Montreal.
 
What a terrible call. I'm starting to remember why I stopped watching soccer years ago.

But there are still dives and **** calls right regardless of what the rules of the sport dictate the outcome of that call to be?

I don't care about soccer (and only watch it once every four years), and don't care about the result of this or any other game of the WC, but diving, embellishing and crappy reffing occur in all sports

To say that it occurs to the extent, and with the repercussions, it does in soccer is nuts.

I mean, really. The referee literally took this game out of Croatia's hands by calling a very clear flop as a penalty shot. Sure, refs make bad calls, but the nature of soccer makes the rewards for flopping significantly greater than the consequence. If Crosby could get a penalty shot for flopping in the crease, you'd be right.

Thank god I never said it occurred with the same repercussions then...

Took the game out of their hands? They've had 2 excellent opportunities to equalise since the penalty.

At a fundamental level, how is it any different to not disallowing the Kings goal in game 2? Both were judgement calls that lead to a goal
