2014 Cup Final - LA Media Derp Thread (AKA Fox 11's time to shine)

In a way I understand and support John Ireland trying to pump up hockey in L.A. but at the same time I have to wonder where is he and his cohorts all season long anyway? I mean they don't have to do wall-to-wall coverage during the season but they actually ignore the Kings completely outside of news updates that the Kings are actually playing a particular evening. :/

Feel the same. Hell, I'm a Laker fan myself, but for ****s sake they won 25 games and had a complete limbo season. It wasn't worth the airtime. There certainly needed to be more regular season Kings coverage, especially during the big point streaks we had.

Props to Patrick for calling out Max and Marcellus also, who facetiously discuss the team. Just extremely unprofessional and a very poor job of building up a local team.


Patrick's emotional rant kicked ass. No political correctness or holding back. Media have been awful at their job and got called out for it.

I almost thin with ESPN they are told to keep it to a minimum. I know Dave Josephsneaks in whatever he can.

When Mason and Ireland were on another station in 1997, they sent their news girl to St Louis with a car with Kings stickers all over it/ She was a hot blonde and their thought process was "they don't have hot blondes in St Louis)

I did talk hockey a few times off the air with Ireland and despite having a midget head, he does know his stuff.

Hopefully he was ripping the 710 clowns themselves, they are the worst offenders. Kings are in the finals and all Max Kellerman talks about are Mike D'Antoni and boxing :shakehead

Agreed, ESPN radio in LA is probably the absolute worst talk show - of any kind - I've ever heard. Pure trash.

He did, right off the hop he came out swinging.Pretty critical of fox 11 for burying the Kings behind a two week old Clipper story.
 
Who was the dumbass that commented on how quiet it was in the arena during the locker room interviews with Toffoli? I'm assuming it was the same journalist who published "It was so quiet in there that they need Will Ferrell and Bailey as a cheerleader to get the 'Go Kings Go' chants going" in the LA TIMES. What an ass hat. We're in the ****ing Stanley Cup Final, and THAT is what you ****ing publish AFTER we win the game in OT?
