Just checking in to say that every time I remember the roster moves made this off season I get this big stupid grin on my face. I don't know if any other franchise is more "injury-ready" than this squad right now.

I keep looking at the Trade boards and I thinking it might be fun to have a thread about trades the Lightning could make, but the Yzerplan just seems too good for my mortal mind to comprehend.

Pre season tickets are on sale but damn they are expensive!

You should look at MSG/Rangers prices. :help:

I'm looking at stub hub rates for the Lightning home opener and am shocked at how less they are compared to Rangers tickets. Not shocked that they are less, but shocked with how much less they are.

I plan to go to the home opener, and that Saturday game.

I keep imagining someone making some threads about the Gagner ordeal like 3 days before it happened and how people would react.

In their 2014-15 Yearbook edition, THN predicts we will be 2nd in the Atlantic (#1 Boston) this year and lose to the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup finals.

More difficult to peg was Chicago's potential opponent in the final. The Eastern Conference has thrown all manner of teams into the Cup showdown in recent years, and although Boston and Pittsburgh are often seen as the twin titans of the regular season, that hasn't always translated into playoff success. Those two black-and-gold squads were bought up as options, as were Montreal and Columbus. But the emerging winner was Tampa Bay.

The Lightning made a great surge in 2013-14, even surviving a broken leg to superstar center Steven Stamkos. But they couldn't overcome a late-season injury to starting goalie Ben Bishop, and in the first round of the playoffs, Tampa was toast. Now, the bolts are healthy and deeper; with Anton Stralman and Jason Garrison joining a solid blueline corps headlined by Victor Hedman. Rookies Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson were stunning last season, and now Jonathan Drouin has a chance to put in his name in Calder Trophy considerations.
...
Over the summer, GM Steve Yzerman shipped out Teddy Purcell, B.J. Crombeen, and Nate Thompson to free up space to sign unrestricted free agents Anton Stralman, Brian Boyle, and Evgeni Nabokov. He also added the hard-shooting Jason Garrison from Vancouver via trade.

With deficiencies addressed during the summer and prospects starting to make an impact, the Lightning are primed to take the next step.

Detroit signed GM Ken Holland to four-year extension. Doesn't Yzerman's contract end around that time? iirc Yzerman has one more year than that but I could be wrong.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/11352234/detroit-red-wings-sign-gm-ken-holland-4-year-deal

Yzerman have one more year left on his old contract so he's going to be with us for the next 5 years so hopefully that will be the end of that discussion because we have enough of the TML fans talking abiut Stamkos without alsp having to deal with DRW fans for the next couple of years because would annoy me a lot (and I like Detroit but SFY have made it clear that while he loved playing there he wants to build his own team and have decided that TBL will be the team he wants to do it with)

GUTTING? drouin unproven vasi unproven SUSTR BLEH he is just ok lol and our two first for sydney crosby?

Serious? I gas a plane. Crosby should have more in tank than drouin ever shows if drouin does show and becomes 100 point guy or 120 I will be happiest bolt fan ever but the odds? SLIM AND not sooo good.

Vasi? We got bishop gudslevskis and wilcox we can afford to lose vasi for CROSBY every damn day of the week. The two first guts us? We are stacked at every position for years. We are ready for a cup adding the best player in the game to play with Stamkos?

That is a sick thought.

Gutting us would be palat/johnson hedman/carle/stralman drouin first first for crosby.

top 3 defender top six young player top prospect two firsts is a fair trade for crosby what was offered all futures?

Ya anyone not doing that is kinda nuts.

I would do that every day of week to get stamkos. Crosby is still better and imagine crosby passing to stamkos

lol

If you have access to your local NESN station at least in the Orlando area, they're airing something at 2:30p today called 'Bruins in Two' with the Bruins vs. Lightning in 2013. Not sure if it's an abridged game, series recap, or what.

Prepare for their lies.

Interesting, hopefully by â€â€¦in two†they don’t refer to Stamkos breaking his leg in a game against Boston.

But if they do talk about the series then they are right that the Bruins won all games but I do feel like the last game of the season could have gone in our direction if it hadn’t been for that small defensive error that caused the last goal or if Bishop had some more shootout experience and I do feel that we have improved on both with getting help on the D and having a year more worth of experience so hopefully the games against them this year will be even better.

the comments on the article itself are already critical, so there's not a lot of need to really pile on.

haters just gonna hate.

Saying the offense is just marginal after Stamkos is idiotic at best. You got 5 guys ( Stamkos, Flip, Palat, Callahan, and Johnson) in that top 6 capable of scoring 20 plus goals easily.

Funnily enough, I do take that article as good news. Big expectations were getting uncomfortable.

I think people are going to be a little surprised by some of the guys who put up numbers for us this year.

Good news guys, some negativity about Tampa and not just the team but the fans...

http://thehockeywriters.com/vegas-5-most-overrated-teams-2014-15/

Hes a kings fan I mean he is one step above bleecher. This guy was biotching when we got stamkos and than hedman and made a run a few years ago he was probably one of the guys crying how unfair that was. I mean jeeez.

His only good article before last year was gagne trade to flyers imho.

So whatever guy should go get a job.

Really he has insight if can call it that since 2011 on the sharks and kings any other team he really doesnt know but maybe st louis so I wouldnt take the guy too seriously if he can name 10 bolts off his head I would be speechless.

P.S. his history as thw
