We need to wear them down with hits, and somehow find our offensive touch. I would love for us to have a series where our offense finally wakes up.

Really looking forward to Saturday afternoon. This should be a hell of a series, and may the better team win. Go Hawks.

Thanks for eliminating Torres and the Sharks. Hope Stoll comes back soon, we know what it's like to lose a guy because of that turd in the playoffs.

Good luck, and looking forward to between 4-7 games of exciting hockey.

That's what's both good and bad about the Kings this season. They have been able to get this far without playing to their potential. However if they keep doing that it may finally bite them in the butt. However if they wake up...watch out NHL.

I hope you guys win. I can't stand the Hawks..or the Penguins for that matter! Neutral on Boston until next year. Both of these series are going to be exciting. I hope someone beats on Bickell in your series..that dude is a clown.
So....Good luck from a Wings fan.

Not thrilled at all to play the Hawks.

As long as we have Quick we have a chance though.

Would love to see the offense wake up too, gonna need it.

I think the Kings have begun to really find their game from about the third period of game four against San Jose. Since then, they have really improved their breakout and neutral zone play, the defensemen are playing up-ice more to pinch down the boards on offense and control gaps on defense, and the forwards are attacking with more speed and purpose. Before that point, the only games that I'd say the Kings really played to their potential were game four against St. Louis and game one against San Jose.

If they keep doing those things, then I think they have a good chance of beating Chicago.

The Kings are behind in the skill department, they have more depth and talent throughout their forward ranks than we do, I think the defense is a wash, we have a clear cut advantage in goal.

The Kings need to clog the neutral zone and prevent the Hawks from entering with speed on the wing and making cross ice passes in the offensive zone, that is one weakness with Quick's aggressive style.

One area the Kings do have a big advantage is down the middle. I have no idea who Coach Q is going to match Toews up against in this series, but whichever center isn't matched up with them should be able to exploit the matchup, especially with as poorly as Dave Bolland is playing. This may be the series Richards and Carter have a ton of room 5 on 5.

We both just won Game 7's at home, IMO the Kings beat a much stronger team than the Hawks did, not sure if that will matter.

I'm going with the Kings in 6 because Jonathan Quick is in a zone we haven't seen since Hasek in the late 90's.

But it is absolutely vital that the Kings win atleast one game here in Chicago this weekend, if the Hawks win both the Kings are done.

Clifford will need to lay down the law right off the bat with that kid Shaw and make sure he doesn't mess around with Quickie or pulling a trick like he did on Filppula tonight.

The Kings don't need Clifford taking stupid penalties against Andrew Shaw. He is already taking enough stupid penalties without going out of his way after players.

Shaw will take stupid penalties, his motor is non-stop but he doesn't have any hockey sense at all, his penalty on a 3 on 2 tonight about sums it up.

Clifford and Shaw are similar in that both have a non-stop motor, which is not a good trait to have. Sometimes you need to slow things down and let the game come to you, neither guy does that and they end up in the box. Stoll used to be like this too, but something changed earlier in the year, I can't even remember the last time Stoll took a stupid penalty.

The Kings need to be smart this series, they don't want to be killing penalties against this team, and for the love of god no 5 on 3's.

I am not talking about going out of his way to fight Shaw. Of course when the opportunity arise I hope Clifford will lay him out.

Agreed no 5 on 3 with the Hawks. It is a death wish to be 2 men down against Kane, Hossa, Sharp and Toews.

You may be right, but remember, the Blues and Sharks won both their first two home games, and it didn't help them in the end. We will of course have to steal one in their barn, but it doesn't have to be in the first two (although I would rather it was...both if possible :P )

Honestly looking at how it's going this year with how it's playing out with the teams AROUND the kings, I think it's fair that this is the fate of the kings this year, getting all the tough matchups.

Looking at last year, A lot of great things happened for the kings not in their control:
1. the 4 most dangerous opponents (SAN JOSE DETROIT CHICAGO VANCOUVER) all out in the first round.
2. Then going into the 3rd round we luck out and get Phoenix... Nashville with Weber/Suter/Rinne were bottling up offenses looking lethal, but phoenix manages to push thru there.
3. Finals, do we want a scrappy jersey team? or a team with a perennial vezina with Richards/Gaborik/co.. I think a lot of us were rooting for Jersey and we got it.

Sure we faced #1, #2, #3, but to me that's a smoke screen of the competition i was fearing to see.

THIS year, the kings are catching NO breaks in this department. Sure drawing St. Louis was favorable considering the recent match-up records. However, we needed Anaheim to take care of detroit, they didn't. Then we were all ready to take home ice against detroit... a team with a young shaky D that barely snuck into the playoffs. Now that didn't go our way either and now we get chicago, a presidents trophy team streaking. YIKES

--Looking at the last 4 teams remaining, All are powerhouses in their own right and if any one of these can take the cup, i wouldn't be surprised.

Though i love our kings, i just don't have a good feeling about this match-up. Last year it was tough to find a player that was underachieving and was plenty easy to find a player that was over-achieving...

This year it's a completely different story... PLENTY of under-achieving, and very FEW over-achieving.

However with how the kings are built... Solid Goaltending, systematic D, strong up the middle, and Depth. It'll be tough for any opponent to take 4 games... though i think chicago has a real good shot of doing it. Toews/Kane/Hossa/Sharp ALL scare me.

Surprised no one's mentioned it. Rozsival is on the Hawks now. Brown needs to take him out cleanly, again.

Brownie and Kopie were beasts last year in the post season.

Quick and the D were phenomenal, but those 2 really stepped up their game.

Let's hope they can this series otherwise we'll be spending too much time in our own zone.

Hawks are scary man. The Wings seem to have given them a proper wake-up call as well, so I'm worried. Gonna be a hard series but you gotta beat the best to win it, so bring it on.

The Kings just need to win one in their barn. I couldn't care less which one, just win one and take care of business at home.
