uh what happens if Dallas and Detroit have the same amount of points, goal differential, and games remaining? what's goes after that?

cause if Dallas wins 2-0 they'll be both tied for 8th.

I don't think Detroit is gonna make it. I've watched a lot of their games especially the ones against the Blackhawks and their slow as s***. They really only have 1 line plus Franzen and Flippula and their defense is horrid. Howard keeps them in a lot of games.

I'm sorry...I missed the news story where the Rags secured a playoff spot...oh wait they didn't.

The Rags can still **** their season away, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they do. In fact we can give them a helping hand in ******** that season away.

You want to tank...I want to trollololol all over that bunch, and they are good at finding ways to wet the bed against bad teams.

What hurts the most is that we're only 6 points out of a playoff spot on the heels of a 0-5-4 streak.

We win 3 of those games and go a putrid 3-3-3 or something instead.. we're right in the thick of things with full control of our own destiny.

They have some good young talent but in Red Wing fashion they would rather not play it and stick bums like Cleary out there

The biggest issues for Wings outside of lesser depth then in past year is that much of there D isn't good

Quincey and Erickson always look terrible vs Hawks ,, Kronwall is there #1 when he should be a #3/4 at best

Yea 2 most successful organization in hockey for the last 20 years on the verge of missing. It had to happen at some point though. I don't quite know what happened to Minnesota. Would be pure hilarity if they collapsed.

Do you watch a lot of the Wild games? Are they just struggling or are they are not very good?

Hey I'd be all for that, but it's pretty hard to imagine them blowing it when they have all non-playoff teams left, only one team can pass them, and that one team is just as likely to win the division as they are to pass the Rangers. Basically both the Caps and Jets have to pass the Rangers to stay in front of them.

I could see the Isles blowing it before the Rangers actually, losing this game might be a bit of a downer for them although they catch a break by getting the Panthers on Tuesday. If they lose that one though with all road games left...

ever since the pominville trade, they've gone on a slide

the canucks have gained on them.

Wow, I just thought it was a matter of the Canucks getting Kesler back. I didn't realize the Wild were sagging again. Is it too late for them to fire Yeo and get Lindy?

Well besides for Anaheim I think most teams look like crap against the Blackhawks  but yea Detroit is due for a bit of a down period. They've been trending downward for a little while now. Losing Lidstrom, Rafalski, and Stuart will make your D pretty bad but I'm surprised they have been this bad.

The Rangers are gonna make it. I know it's painful to admit but they have been a different hockey team since the trades and the signing of Zuccarello. Winnipeg isn't catching them. It would be fun to go into the Garden and put a huge dent in their chances but I just don't see it. We can't beat ANYBODY recently so I have hard team believing were gonna go in there and not get maimed unless Kovy comes back and goes into god mode.

Whats our magic number to get eliminated? I feel like its creepin on us.

8 points. Just updated my magic/elimination number thread. I've been tracking the draft lottery standings lately as well since we actually have some hope on that end :(

**** the Fishcakes anyway. Man the Caps just blew a 5-1 lead against TB last years Devils style. Well even this years Devils style a few times I guess. Now it's in OT. Washington getting a PP.

And just like us last year they won the game after blowing a big lead

We are only 4 points in front of Calgary. Think about that for a second.

Calgary, San Jose, Dallas, and Buffalo all sold off pieces at the deadline and have still put together more wins than us (only 1 win is more than us lol). 2 of those teams are still in the playoffs. I think we kind of messed up at the deadline.

And just like us last year they won the game after blowing a big lead

I don't really remember winning many games where we blew leads last year once the other teams tied it. A few one goal leads that we wound up winning in the shootout. The only one I really remember is blowing the 3-0 lead to the Rangers in game 5, and then Carter scoring late in the 3rd and we won the game. We blew a couple two goal leads to Florida in the elimination games.

Let's just be real here. The Rangers are gonna make it unless that putrid team from Winnipeg somehow makes it in. I can't see that team making it in over the Rangers at all. Yeah they've won 3 in a row starting with a tanking Flyers team, an awful Buffalo team, and the worst team in the league the Panthers.
