I was probably the poster most agains signing BR to start with.
I don't like that we are not buying out. Far to weak 5 on 5. People say that he has lost a step etc, he hasnt really. He has never been a good skater and his stats has always been PP and instincts with the puck.
But, right should be right. We are not stuck with his contract for seven years. A big portion of all NHLers 36+ y/o can claim that they are hurt and go on LTIR instead of retireing.
If BR does retire, we are not stuck with his contract but only with the money we saved on the bogus years at the end that counts against our cap.
Thats what people don't realize. We signed him to help our power play but for some reason our power play has never worked under what ever coach or assiant coach.
Richards gets his points on the PP.... thats why his numbers are down. He is still the same player, just playing on a team with holes
