Would take Jagr at a year then Zuccarello at 3. No question.
So the consensus here is we need to get more offense, but some are old, some are too expensive, too fat, no longer good, too young or too much to acquire. The perfect move don't exist. U need to take some risks to get better. People on here have complained about absolutely everybody in one way or another.
I just posted this in the Canes 5th thread on the main board, but how about Staal+Boyle+3rd (maybe) for 5th overall+McBain. Works really well if we sign Lapierre.
Staal is worth more than the 5th+McBain by himself.
I'm not so sure. I mean, he's a great player, but who knows how he'll be without full vision.
Jagr ain't gonna sign for a 1.5 million cap hit.
And?
Do the Rangers want to play a puck possession game or not?

A 75% Staal is worth more than the 5th and McBain.

I think Boyle used on the 4th line, for the PK, and Dzone face offs is the perfect role for him. Trade Pyatt and Ashem for picks and sign Nystrom. Let Haley or someone like that for the 13th forward. Fourth line of
Nystrom - Boyle - Dorset
Wouldnt be opposed to that but I think Lapierre is better and can be signed for cheap

I get that we need to revamp our bottom-6, but if we are signing a guy to play there in FA, we need to pay him like a bottom 6er. If we cant do that, then fine, I'd rather bring up a kid. When you pay these guys more than their worth it defeats the purpose entirely.
Again, I agree but Carolina may not.

No, Lappierre would be the 4th line center
