I wonder what type of offer it would take from us to get Yakupov from the Oilers. They're talking about the Oilers moving him on TSN. I'd give up a pretty good amount...

No you wouldn't. You'd give up a cheap offer.

what for short term or long term..........like what?
Long term. You always think long term, IMO.

Look at a team like Chicago. Wins the Stanley Cup, trades two players for 5 draft picks. That's how you build a team.

I'm sure the people posting these "rumours" are just refreshing this thread every second and giggling.

Although it makes sense Philli would be dealing right away to clear cap space for more possible moves since they can only go so far over.

I would be absolutely furious if we dealt Gallagher.
Me too. He's quickly turning into my favourite player. However, again, if it improves our team - I'm in.

Not a huge fan of that 3 for 3 trade posted above though.

Yeah, I'd prefer to keep something like:

Max Pacioretty - Tomas Plekanec - Brendan Gallagher
Alex Galchenyuk - Lars Eller - Daniel Briere
Rene Bourque - Max Talbot - Wayne Simmonds
Ryan White - Gabriel Dumont - Brandon Prust

Josh Gorges - PK Subban
Andrei Markov - Braydon Coburn

No idea what that means for guys going back though.

YES, please this

I dont think the rumor is credible. Its been an hour since Filosa first posted it. And nobody picked it up.

Lavoie would have gotten information right away.

Everyone loves Gallagher, but you have to give to get. Habs need size. It would be great if we could find someone who would give us some for Desharnais. But it doesn't work that way. That said, I hope we keep Gallagher, too. That kid is all heart.

This should be everyone's attitude. I can't understand how people would refuse a trade that makes our team better because they have a hardon for a certain player. Phoenix offers us OEL for eller and I say see ya!

that has " shot term gain that ends up biting you in the ass" written all over it

( Although i'm not saying I wouldnt consider it)

Why is it short term? Simmonds is same age as Pacioretty and was on pace for 27g/58pts last season and had 28g/49pts in 11/12

I'd love to dump DD and Gio as much as the next guy, but there's no way we get anything like this.

Maybe Philly wants McCarron :help:

These rumours are amazing because we all know not one will come true. Same thing every UFA or trade deadline day. These twitter people love the hits their sites get when the Habs are mentioned. #Bergymakesnotrade
