Sitting some games seems to have improved Larsson and Tallinder's games. Maybe it's time some of the forwards got the same treatment. Zajac immediately comes to mind.

Petey sunshine will never do it but I can dream.

Sit Zajac for who, Cam? That'll improve the offense.

Speaking of which, what exactly was the purpose of bringing Cam up for one game, having him play three minutes without fighting, then sending him down again?

And TG can pooh-pooh the conspiracy theories but Marty better be back Saturday or it'll be obvious the only reason they sent Kinkaid down was to avoid the crowd controversy.

I don't even know what's going on anymore. After sending Janssen back we have an open roster slot. Let me guess, Sestito?

I feel like they would have called him up already if Sestito were to be called up.

This carousel is confusing.

I have a feeling we'll need to pass Toronto and/or Ottawa to be a playoff team this year as philly and the rags are starting to groove.

That loss to toronto kinda hurt in hindsight. Team needs to start getting points.

Alright I guess it makes sense to send down Kinkaid to keep him fresh since Hedberg is starting tomorrow.

According to TG and Chere, DeBoer said there's no timetable for Brodeur's return. Anywhere between day-to-day to a month. Just give a clear answer Pete what the ****.

If Marty is coming back this weekend i have no issue sending KK down and letting him play in Albany this week. If Marty is going to be out through the weekend or longer we need a 2nd goalie that can actually play. Not sure we have that answer in the organization at this time

Analysis of this team thus far is just all over the place.

People keep *****ing about our forward depth as if we have a bunch of scrubs being played in roles above their skill level. That is so inaccurate. Kovy and Elias are both career point-per-game players and are produceing well below that right now. Zajac is a .6 ppg player producing well below that this whole season. Clarkson is a 20-30 goal scorer who hasn't put the puck in the net for weeks now. Henrique has proven he can put up offense and has gotten back to that over the last couple of games. Zubrus is out injured. In terms of secondary scoring, we have CBGB, Ponikarovsky, and now Loktionov. Not to mention guys on defense who should be able to create some offense (Zidlicky, Greene, Larsson to a lesser degree).

Look at our top 5 forwards (Kovy, Elias, Zajac, Henrique, Clarkson) and then look at the top 5 for teams above us in the standings like Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa. You are telling me that our forward group is significantly worse than theirs? Give me a ****ing break.

These guys aren't playing up to their talent level, plain and simple. I don't know why but they just aren't right now. Maybe it has to do with chemistry, I don't know. PDB keeps trying to spread out the offense, but I think at this point you have to put all of our big guns on the top two lines. Something like Elias-Henrique-Kovy and Poni-Zajac-Clarkson. I'd rather have our top two lines be solidified than having four lines with no chemistry at all and two rookies on the top line.

As far as the defense, it has not been nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. I don't think it's been great, that's not what I am saying. But every team is going to have defensive breakdowns, that's why you need to have the goaltender there to make big saves. We have not had that. Hedberg's save % for the last 6 games is below .850. That is absolutely atrocious and you cannot tell me that our defense is so bad that he can't even muster up a .900 save %. That is BS.

Star players severely underproducing + crappy goaltending = 6 game losing streak.

Our breakout entering the zone ES is almost non existent. I saw either of the three happen almost 80% of the time attacking the zone:

- Dumping it in too hard and giving the opposition time to make a pass or clear the zone.
- Taking it in only to have a pass intercepted/deflected/too far for a player.
- Shot blocked or wide.

Devils need to be smarter with the puck and not force plays that aren't there. Get back to basics and watch video of what isn't working and fix it.

Ya I don't really listen to what the team says anymore. When Marty his IR, that was bad news despite the talks from Pete and the clamoring on HF.

I just hope I'm right with my crazy assumption. When I got to work this morning I said to myself "I think Lou is going to make a move today"

Marty's been day to day for two weeks now. If he was anywhere close, I doubt they'd worry about rushing Kinkaid back to Albany to get him playing time.

I'd take Toronto and Montreal's Top Five/Six over ours in a heartbeat. Ottawa is depleted without Spezza at the moment and even with him they are comparable to us.

I think there are many questions..Kovy just doesnt look the same. people have speculated its indifference, overuse, his back, he left his heart in St. Petersburg, hes playing out of position, a combination of all 5. Whatever reason its hard to argue hes just not the same guy right now. Clarkson is hot and cold. He seems to score lots of bounce goals. Right now those bounces are evening out and he's never been much of an assist guy so if the puck isn't going in he net he's not on the scoreboard. Henrique doesn't shoot enough and when he does he doesnt hit the net. Hes averaging less than a shot and a half on goal per game..His shot % is almost 25%..is he not getting the opportunities, or is he simply coming back to earth a bit after a surprisingly good rookie year? Zajac has simply been terrible. He is not getting paid to be our third line checking center. He has 3 assists all year and that's counting the one last night that accidentally hit his skate...3....Does he miss Zach? Does he feel the pressure of the contract? Has the achilles permanently slowed him ? or is he going to be that 45pt score he was the year parise was out? Elias is defying age and hope that continues. Yes Zubie is out but I do not feel hes a Top 6 guy anyways.

I think the larger problem is we have lots of 2/3 line players 4/5 D asked to do more than they should be doing and in short samples that's fine but we are regressing to our mean at the moment. I think this will also balance out and we will be fighting for that 8th spot all year.

NYR claim Roman Hamrlik from WSH and NJD claim Tom Kotsopoulos from PIT.

Doesn't solve any Top 6 problems, but I like it. No risk.
