Dear god I hope he isnt on the 1st line. Dont want to add that pressure to him.

Pressure? Just needs to fulfill A Zubrus role, or even Palmieri when he was here. Fact is, Zajac is alone in the corners and that line does not spend enough time in the offensive zone.

How do these lines sound once Zubrus returns?:

Zubrus-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Elias-Henrique-Clarkson
Ponikarovsky(trade for Tallinder & Butler)-Josefson/Loktionov-Matteau
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

Or even put Henrique at left wing on the top line and make the second line Zubrus-Elias-Clarkson.

Who called it?

So how quick before Sykora re-signs now? :sarcasm:

Lou bringing back the old band, except for the one guy who got Fort Knox to go home

We don't have room for 14 forwards unless Tallinder or another D gets traded.

And Barch isn't going to be the one to go away, not yet anyway. Probably Matteau or Butler will. (I'm talking about the lineup, obviously Loikotonov will be sent back down to create the roster spot)

And btw now we're down to having four picks this year...presuming we don't give up our #1. We have a #1, 2, 4 and 6 left. Next year we're likely going to be out the #1 along with the #4.

I don't think Barch has been bad at all. He's not going anywhere but the press box. He's going to stay our 14th forward.

But once the playoffs start, he'll be holding down the position of left press box. He's a regular season player. If we see him in the playoffs, then like four guys must be injured.

I have to say I have a really weird feeling Josefson is getting traded. I don't know why...

Loktionov called up, another forward in Ponikarovsky and we got them both for late round picks whilst still having 8 NHL defenceman. I smell another trade with a forward + D-man leaving as well. Get a top 6 forward and gear up for another cup run whilst we still have Brodeur.

Josefson + Tallinder + Prospect would probably net us a nice top 6 forward.

Top 6 Forward - Zajac - Kovalchuk
Elias - Henrique - Clarkson
Ponikarovsky - Loktionov - Zubrus
Carter - Gionta - Bernier
Butler, Barch

Larsson - Greene
Zidlicky - Volchenkov
Fayne - Salvador
Harrold

Brodeur
Hedberg

Depending on who we get i could see that team going pretty far again.

Yeah at least it's not his back, that would have been worse too - too early in the season to give him the magic Kovalchuk injections.

I think Josefson just goes down to regain confidence in his scoring and Loktionov gets a chance to play C. Enough Pkers on the team that he can go down and regain his O.

Not the worst idea. Let him get some confidence that he won't get by sitting in the box, check Loki out, and we keep Matteau which adds some good size to that line and don't lose any assets through waivers.

Josefson is too important to the PK, IMO.
