I'd rather keep Tedenby with Patty and Henrique. Elias can look after the kids. Keep Zubrus with Zajac and Kovy. If Matteau sticks, put him with Yayo and Clarkson on the third line, if he doesn't, Butler takes the spot instead. Roll CBGB as the fourth line and we're golden.

So that's:

Zubrus-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Tedenby-Elias-Henrique
Matteau/Butler-Josefson-Clarkson
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

I'm comfortable with that until Lou makes a trade.

I dont see the point of moving Henrique to the wing. Elias is not a fan of playing center and Henrique is a center. Not sure if you did it on purpose of just filled in lines.
Id rather see that second line as Elias - Henrique - Tedenby

Anyone else not want to bury Clarkson on the 3rd line? I know he did well there last year but with more playing time and better linemates, who knows what numbers he can put up..

Would like to see him getting a top 6 spot, especially over Tedenby at this point. Clarkson finishes (sometimes miraculously, i'll admit it), Tedenby creates chances and misses the net almost every time.

Zubrus-Zajac-Kovy
Elias-Henrique-Clarkson
Tedenby-Josefson-Butler
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

Not sure about that 3rd line size wise but I trust the other 3 to be solid defensively.

EDIT: Maybe switch Tedenby and Zubrus and see if that solidifies the 3rd line. I think Teddy has the speed and playmaking to work well with Zajac and Kovy and well, if he can't pot some goals with those two, he's not going to with anyone else.

I don't know, it's the 3rd line in theory... but I really like the look of Tedenby-Josefson-Clarkson

Speed, play making, net crashing - it's an all inclusive line.

“I hope it won’t change for me. I hope I’m not moved back to the wing. If that’s the case, fine. If it’s better for the team, I’ll change. But I’d be better in the middle.€

That line played well together under Lemaire

What I don't care for though is Josefson and Tedenby aren't the strongest guys and I'd rather have them with 2 stronger guys than 1

He might not be the strongest, but what I like most about Josefson is how smart he can be with the puck. He's still growing and maturing, but when he's put in danger he knows how to put the puck in a safe spot.

With a guy like Tedenby and his offensive skill set and Clarkson's knack for being in the right place at the right time... that line has real good potential.

Still not in love with Zubrus on the 1st line since I felt he couldn't quite keep up with Zajac and Kovy but only one game in.

I thought he did fine there. Cleared space, cycled well, and played solid defence. He's not meant to be the offensive dynamo on the line, that is Kovy and Zajac's job.

I think Henrique and Elias are interchangeable. Both are good at either wing or centre. Tedenby should be able to play either wing in theory. So really you could shuffle that line in several different ways and still come up with something workable.

No, I think Clarkson belongs on the third line. No higher, no lower.

That has been a solid line in the past, I wouldn't mind trying it again. But that requires either Matteau or Butler in the top 6. Not saying it couldn't work, but it is a little odd. Maybe if Lou trades for a top 6 winger we'll be set.

Henrique - Zajac - Kovy
Tedenby - Elias - Clarkson
Matteau - Josefson - Zubrus
Carter - Gionta - Bernier

Boom!

Switch Zubrus and Clarkson as needed.

Speaking of trades.

Wings fans suggesting Franzen for Volchenkov. Makes me wish anyone but Holland was their GM right now.

I seem to have missed that i know he wasnt happy about it when he first started.

Thank you for the updated info.

Damn would certainly love to move one of our D for a guy like Franzen. I think Deboer said Larsson would have a "big role" on the team this year, but with how solid the 6 defensemen on the roster right now are, I can't see any of them being used as a 7th. Hopefully that means a trade a coming up for either Volchenkov or Tallinder.

I like Tallinder though for our Swedish youth and to potentially play with Larsson again, but with the drama of Kovalchuk over playing in Russia and also not receiving the C it might not be smart to move the only other Russian from the roster plus the A-Train has an NTC.

Regardless would love to move either of the guys plus for a top 6 winger like Franzen, Hemsky, Gionta, or Stewart.

They played well, but it was one game. Pete is going to rotate the bottom pairs until something shows off, gets traded, or someone gets hurt.

Larsson will have a big role once someone is traded. Lou knows that the value of a player will go down if he is stratched every night. That why Tallinder/Volchenkov is playing.

Just from their track record though anyone one of Greene, Fayne, Zidlitsky, Zidlicky, Tallinder, Salvador and Volchenkov are at least # 4-5 on a cup contender. Certainly shouldn't be scratches with their abilities and paychecks. Would rather wait a few games to let Tallinder and Volchenkov show their value and move one sooner rather than later to another team showing early defensive struggles.

Well, barring someone being really gassed or hurt the only two being rotated would be Tallinder and Volch. Zids mobility keeps him in, Sal is the C so he is never sitting, and I don't really see Pete sitting Green and Fayne. I get your thinking, I just think Pete wants Larsson to be playing games sooner rather then later.

That lineup was fine and dandy for the Islanders... but a mad 0-2 Flyers team will expose it Tuesday night. Lou will make a move soon. Don't be surprised if Mr. Sykora or Mr. Gomez get some more phone calls.

Gomez is pretty close to signing with the Sharks. I don't think Sykora has enough left. Lou doesn't seem interested.

What evidence do you have the Sykora doesn't have enough left? He scored 21 goals here last year... including a few important playoff goals.

Gomez has been "pretty close to signing with the sharks" for a few days now. It must not be close enough if it's not done and he's missing games.

It wouldn't shock me if Gomez and Redden had an under-the-table agreement with their teams that they would go West if they were given the courtesy of an early buyout. The only teams you ever heard Redden rumored for were out West, same with Gomez other than the reporters who wanted to link us to him (and probably we did have some interest, but clearly that wasn't mutual).

He has been skating with them for the past few days, they are trying him out obviously. I like Sykora, but 30 teams, 30 GMs including Lou have decided to pass on him at the moment. Where there is smoke there is fire. Plus as others have noticed it was becoming clear as the season wore on he started running out of gas.
