I am praying to the baseball gods for no serious injuries. That right there will have people debating if us or the Nats have the best rotation in the NL for the next decade.

Hasn't been good in forever, I would take an average Nova at this point.

Logan threw so much last year, it may have been smart to see if you could have gotten something of value for him during the off season, but now we need him with Rapada released.

Yeah the rotation will heat up and I think the lineup will surprise people with how many runs it will be able to put up. But that bullpen worries me.

Do we keep Buck around to tutor TDA when he gets called up? If he's still hitting even slightly like he's hitting now can we get a decent OF prospect? His name is Buck, is he really here to party?



Never thought it'd end up like this, but unless he starts being absolutely terrible in the next 2-3 weeks John Buck will be a very interesting Met this season.

2010 with Toronto he had 20 HR and a .489 SLG. He's always had great power. If you get one of those fluky seasons where everything is going right for the guy, he could find himself with an OPS over .800 come the deadline.

While he "calls a good game" (the most over-valued trait of any player at any position), he's pretty ****** defensively. I don't know that he's the guy you necessarily want tutoring d'Arnaud.

Dickey's had TWO starts. Two. Cole Hamels got absolutely **** on a few days ago, too. Is he awful? We're 6ish games into the new season, small sample sizes need to be the disclaimer for everything. Syndegaard had an alright start in the minors yesterday (or two days ago.) Hard to say anything was a fleece yet.

If he has a good backup in Buck, who can (and really should) split starts with him as d'Arnaud breaks into the league, is that better than being forced into the fire knowing that if you struggle as the main workhorse you have to keep shouldering the load?

Yeah, it's ridiculous to call anything a fleecing right now. d'Arnaud could end up busting and Syndergaard could blow out his elbow, while Dickey finds him form and wins a Cy Young and WS in Toronto. Who the hell knows at this point. Consider who it's coming from though, LOL.

Synder's start was pretty. 4 innings, 3 hits, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts. He's still stretching out after the "side injury" he had in camp.

If we're out of it by the deadline I don't think it would matter. d'Arnaud can split time with Recker and work on his game with wins or losses meaning nothing (as usual). If the kid is producing at AAA, throw him into the fire. He's going to have to sink or swim eventually.

Toronto overpaid for a retirement home attendee with only 2 good seasons under his belt. They gave up two top 10 prospects (IMO) to acquire him. Those types of assets should be excluded for pitchers that are controllable and in their prime years.
