Sucks for JAM that Columbus is so deep at forward. I feel like he's good enough to get a shot right away.

If you have actually watched him play you'd think otherwise. He has some ability but he needs to play hard every night, not just when he feels like it. Thats expected with all young players. We also arent really "deep" in forward, hes just frankly not good enough to crack an NHL roster atm. His time will come soon enough and he'll be up here eventually. When he gets his shot whether it be injuries or he's earned it, he better be ready for it.

From Puckrakers:

Here’s what the top three lines could look like today:

• R.J. Umberger-Derick Brassard-Cam Atkinson

• Derek Dorsett-Artem Anisimov-Brandon Dubinsky

• Nick Foligno-Mark Letestu-Vinny Prospal

if Umberger is a top liner then welcome either Seth Jones or Nathan MacKinnon :amazed:

I think Dorsett could be a good fit with those two. I bolded what I hoped you would say.

Final Jeopardy Answer Seth Jones plays defense...

What position does Seth Jones play? - :) Glad I wagered it all

Seriously,I assume you were referring back to my comment about DD on 2nd line-I was just saying that we'd have #1 or 2 pick and we'd have one of those guys. Not suggesting Jones would play 2nd line.

Last season down the stretch, Umberger,Brassard, and Atkinson showed chemistry so I'm assuming they're sticking with that. But mind you, the games they played great in were in meaningless games and I'm sure the other teams weren't playing hard against Columbus so those numbers could be misleading. If they switched the first line with the second line, would have a problem? You said Dorsett with those players might work but if Dorsett is on the first line, God help us all.

Also, this is day one of camp, maybe tomorrow, Umberger will be on the 3rd line. Or do you think with only a week of camp and then straight to games, they won't experiment with lines. Richards will be dead set on these top 3 lines and will use them all week to get chemistry?

From the above post, it looks like a Boll-Jenner-Mackenzie line

3rd line is interesting, I kind of like it.

Sad I missed the camp, but saw this from the CBJ twitter and it made me happy. Can't wait for Opening Night.

I don't completely agree with this. We were playing teams that were fighting to get in and teams fighting for play-off positions. obviously there were a few in our position, but most were in the hunt or jockeying for a better seed

Can't agree with this. Other teams were working for the playoffs and playoff position. Not saying this is a great line or something teams will be scared of but I wouldn't dismiss their accomplishements so easily.

Good to see some players on the ice for the first time. Dubinsky, Anisimov, Bobrovsky.

Hard to take anything away from today (besides an autographed Prospal hat). This will be a blue collar team. Jenner is a manchild. Bob will work his arse off to get the net.

The practice was delayed a few minutes and Rimer gave the mic to Richards and said we weren't expecting this (turnout). It was packed SRO. Several people deep around the boards opposit the stands.

Hard to get a good idea with the lines. There were some line rush drills, but no scrimmage situation.
