2013-2014 Schedule Released (Schedule/Divisions/Realignment Discussion)

The realignment as a whole is pretty ridiculous.

Entire league changed around to please Detroit, basically.

I love how som West Coast fans react to it.

A few months ago they said that it doesn't help western teams at all, because they got rid of weak teams.

Now Columbus and Detroit are apparently better than any team in the east.

Quite different. There is precedent with a naming rights deal with a league, not that I encourage it. The Nascar Winston Cup Series, The PPG Indycar World Series, The CART FedEx Series, the Carling English Premier League, now the Barclay's Premier League......
 
Either name the divisions after classic NHL Legends or give them proper locational names. Metropolitan? Really? Mid-Atlantic would have even better better.

Let's just call it the Patrick Division and never speak of this Metropolitan ever again.

Well.... most people would dislike a sponsorship division name more than Metropolitan. That I'm certain of.
 
so we play less games against the pens and more against some ****** western teams? seems okay to me

I agree, it really bothers me also. The fact that there is still an Atlantic division makes it even worse.

The worst thing besides lockouts, really? A name?

How about expansions in to terrible hockey markets? How about inconsistent refereeing and suspensions every year? How about awful and biased T.V. coverage? Just to name a few.

Yeah, a stupid division name is so reprehensible! :help:

The incessant complaining is really not working for me. A complete waste of energy and server space.

If you don't like something the league does, stop funding it.

Well if you don't like what we have to say about it, you don't have to read it. If the name was the only dumb thing the league has done in recent history, it wouldn't be so bad. It just becomes harder each year to take the NHL seriously.

It's not just a name to me, it's a symbol of the league's continual and utter incompetence.

btw, the Kovalchuk sig. is absolutely hilarious.

This is brutal for the league as a whole. It's a mess and was poorly implemented and thought out. I'm just using the Rangers as an example.

People who are smarter than you (aka, team execs out West) disagree with you completely. So do the advertisers who fund the RSN contracts those teams get.
