Kootenay is up on Medicine Hat 2-1. Skapski stopped 39 of 40 shots last night to get the win. After an absolute implosion in the first round, he has settled in against MH. He's 2-1 with a .934 SV% in the series. Kootenay had faith in him and so far has been rewarded. So often you see teams in junior hockey just ride the hot hand.
I am starting to become very high on him.
me too (or maybe i'm just happy we seem to have finally drafted a decent goalie)
Where is best for him next year? ahl/echl/overage season?
I would think another Junior season would be best for him if the team will commit to him playing most of the games. Goalies take time.

Not yet for me - his development this year has been very Stajcer-like in his first year when he became a part of the Rangers organization.
Buccigross is a brutal play by play guy.
Devils look like they hit a home run with the Great Santini.
Then again, I said that about us with Mottau in 2000.
What's the deal with Duclair? AHL next year? Or does he have to do one more year in minors? Frankly all of this prospect stuff is foreign to me
It's either the NHL or the QMJHL for him next season. The rule is that a CHL (OHL, WHL or QMJHL) player has to be 20 years old by Dec 31st of that year, or has completed 4 years of play in major-junior. Duclair has only played 3 seasons and won't turn 20 until August 2015.
The other thing of note is that the Rangers can keep him in the NHL for up to 9 games to start the year before electing to send him back. If he plays a 10th game, they'll use up a year of his entry-level contract.
Skjei is going to be an excellent NHL defenseman.
Very smart pick by the Rangers. These type of defensemen are an absolute goldmine in terms of transitioning to the NHL and the Rangers have clearly cornered the market.

Night and day from last year and hes really upped his play since the games started to matter.
Sidenote: I've never understood the fuss with Mike Reilly. Hes a marginal NHL prospect who will be lucky if he can carve out a Peter Harrold type career IMO.
