Yeah because it's impossible for an 18 year old to act professionally.

Trash talking in a schoolyard is one thing. Doing it on an international stage is another.

Dollars to doughnuts, if youre a pompous turd as a teenager, you'll be one as you get older.

I also love the people who think they know everything that they couldn't possibly know.

They were on the ice for 2 hours before that. Nobody knows what may have been said to trigger that.

Get over it. Have you never played competitive sports? There is always trash talk going on, especially in a rivalry game. Canada-USA isn't the only rivalry game going on. I'm sure USA is Russia's rival. We glorify the 1980 Olympics any chance we get, i'm sure as a hockey culture they haven't forgotten about it.

Has anybody really justified it? I don't anybody says that what B did was right, all they say is that it's stupid, but no reason to go overboard like quite a few do.

And how do you know he's a pompous turd? Just because of this one douchy move? You know what, chances are even Gandhi once gloated in his life, but one stupid thing is nothing to judge a whole person on.
 
Good grief. If an American prospect does this to Russia no one has an issue with it. At all. In fact, people would say it shows the player has "personality" and "heart" with a willingness to agitate the opponent.

Can someone recap for me what the fuss is all about? Other than the US losing of course.

It was pretty much all about the US losing. If they won the conversation isn't happening.

Buchnevich taunted the American bench twice during the game. Once after an EN goal. Err1 be mad. The end.

buch didnt do anything to create this type of animosity. he hammed it up a bit sure, but really? since when is that a problem in ice hockey amongst teenagers on the worlds biggest international stage. seriously folks? you dont understand if you think that game didnt matter to those young russian kids.

and the us team played like ass. period.

the russian team, as i said before, was loaded. they were stacked. pavel played a decent game and had a solid tourny. he and his team got the last laugh.

kids a talented, albeit maybe a bit immature, player and will bring some much needed skill to this organization.

demonstrative post goal displays are nothing unique. flash back to a few years ago when the usa won. nothin new here.

I hope Hartman gets his ass kicked? Let's sucker jab/spear at someones face with the stick? That's the punk move. Sucker punching, slew foots, sucker anything should be what's eradicated from the league. I'm not a fan of the sport so I can watch robotic players. Taunting happens. Competitive sports bring out emotion in anyone but Chris Drury and Brad Richards.

It wasn't bad at all and the reaction by some of this board, yourself included, is unwarranted.

And this is coming from a completely unbiased party with no care for the WJC and which country wins it.

Nope. Speak for yourself but not me. I could care less about what country, state, city, borough somebody is from.

If you act like a clown, you should get treated like a clown. age, race, creed, religion etc doesn't excuse you.

The same people defending This garbage are the same ones who use that stupid term "classless" when a guy like Marchand taunts Kesler.

But if it's a Ranger like Anisimov, oh well that's cute and funny and original.

USA players and Canadian players have been doing this kind of **** at the WJC for years. It comes down to the USA losing today. Get over it. There's always next year.

My games weren't televised internationally, and I wasn't a paid professional playing in a professional league with former NHLers.

The rivalry BS doesn't hold water. It's a punk move to taunt a bench while you're skating away knowing you'll never play the same guys again.

If Potvin taunted the Rangers bench after a goal, Fotiou would clock him in the face before Potvin could think.

I don't have a problem if Bucenevich could back it up. He didn't. He skated to his bench without fear of getting rammed head first into the boards.

Crosby is the perfect example. He was a rat-faced punk who hid behind the referees. Then he gets his dome destroyed twice and now he's a Lady Byng candidate.

I don't mind trash talking if you can back it up. Slapping a puck into an empty net then taunting a bench while skating, then hiding on your bench is a punk-ass move and I hope he gets his ass kicked one day like everybody else in history who deserved it.

LT trashed talked from the opening snap to the final buzzer. He did and he backed it up physically.

I don't mind taunting. I mind that he did it skating away from the bench. At least Cloutier was standing still and inviting a whole team to kick his ass. While stupid, he was willing to get his ass kicked for whatever reason.

Ovechkin, for all his bush league antics, backs it up physically, and I respect that. What Bucenevich did is as ***** as they come and that's why at some point I hope he gets paid back.

2. How do you know he couldn't "back it up". Clearly nobody on the opposing team actually cared enough to take action
