Sick parade today in Los Angeles...

That bandwagon seems pretty barren, what happened to all those people during the series? :help:

Boyle can walk. He's very much replaceable.Especially if he expects to play in anyone's top 6.

Stralman is a must resign. It's not clear if he wants more years or if he simply wants a NTC cause his family doesn't want to move around.

He said he wants to get paid.
Some folks think thats a bad thing.

That's not what he said in the slightest. AV told him the plan was to stick him with 3rd/4th line minutes and he said he wants "more responsibility"

Apperently undressing doughty and sniping quick = I demand top 6 minutes.

AV said he would be in the same role he was this year. Aka a 4th liner, and a wing at that.

I can't blame Boyle much for wanting a shot to be a 3rd line C.

Moreover, I forget who said it, maybe Ail, but this could easily just be setting up the story. When the reality is the Rangers have come to Boyle and told him they can't afford him.

If Boyle is looking 3rd line minutes then I don't want him back. His best fit in the NHL is a 4th liner/PKer. Love Brian Boyle because he plays his ass off, ups his game in the playoffs, and I feel he's a great locker room guy.

But he needs to be self-aware here and know what makes him effective in the league. If he goes somewhere else as a 3C he will be that teams whipping boy. And that would be a shame, because he's a guy who leaves it all on the ice. He just doesn't have the speed, skating ability or hands to make more of an impact than he does.

So Boyle all I have to say to you is this:

“I was on the fourth line, and I didn’t really like it, but it wasn’t the fourth line I was used to,” said Boyle, who had three postseason goals (one empty-netter) after six in the regular season. “We had three lines that could score on any shift — it was different, it was just different.”

After saying how much he loves the Rangers and the opportunity they gave him, Boyle relayed the message sent to him from coach Alain Vigneault.

“I know what my role would be coming back here,” said Boyle, likely looking for a two- or three-year deal in the range of $3 million to $4 million per. “In the playoffs and on a team that’s going to win in May and June, it’s an important role. But everybody wants to score more goals.”

The quotes from Stralman make it sound like he's more interested in term than cap hit. I wouldn't mind going to four or five years to make the cap hit more reasonable.

For what it's worth, LA doesn't get much turnout for Laker parades either. People are generally too busy looking in the mirror or getting a tan.

Probably the crappiest sports town in the entire country on a per capita basis

Sucks, not only do we not get a cup, but we don't get the parade down the canyon of heroes which would've been epic.

LOL. Literally no1curr.

Over half the people are in business attire. ****ing lol. People rip the wall street company seats all year and the bandwagon fans in the playoffs for New York, but that would be a sea of ****ing blue if it was NY. Grats to the 500 actual hockey fans in LA.

Yikes, if Boyle really is looking for $3-4M per, good luck to him. I really hope he gets it somewhere. He's the perfect 4th line and PK forward, but as a 3rd liner, he's definitely lower-tier. Some team that needs his heart-and-soul play will probably meet his demands, but I hope he's prepared to go to some bottom-feeder in order to get it.

If Stralman is willing to negotiate on salary in exchange for term, you give it to him every day of the week. Keep his cap hit near $4M and I'd be a happy camper. It sounds like the organization is willing to move on from him, though. If they truly think Klein can play 2nd pairing minutes, and one of McIlrath or Allen are ready, I guess it would make sense to save on cap. It's a shame though, because Stralman played like a borderline top-pairing dman during our run.
