“@stevezipay: Dan Girardi had dislocated pinky in Game 2. No other injuriesâ€

“@AGrossRecord: Dan Girardi says he played with a dislocated right pinkie suffered in Game 2. Otherwise -and surprisingly he notes - he's physically OK.â€

I think G just ran out of gas. He plays a brutal style and it takes a toll. He needs to either A) Get in better shape or B) Learn to adjust and stop blocking so many damn shots.

This team as a whole worries too much about blocking shots. They need to let Hank play goalie. Defensively they would be better and would give up less goals that way too. It feels like a goal gets scored off of a Ranger defender every game.

Can't wait for the Nash injury disclosure and all the haters start saying stuff like, "what a coincidence!" or "here comes the excuses..."

:sarcasm:

Regarding Girardi though, I don't think you can blame stupid decision making on a pinky. He was outmatched and definitely tired. He also should never be on the power play, however if I bring that up during a game he ends up scoring somehow. I guess I should have *****ed more about him in the Finals.

So would Boyle, Stralman, Poo etc. Callahan did as well. Let's see how bad they want to re-sign in NY.

Moore is a guy that has moved around a ton and recently lost his wife. He's comfortable with the Rangers and being in New York City. He seems like the guy that would take less to stay where he is comfortable.

“@NYRangers: "It was a pretty special group. One of the best I've ever played with.”

Hopefully Nash has a bounce back similar to the one that the San Antonio Spurs had from last NBA finals to this NBA finals. Come back to the rink in a few months motivated as **** to propel this team to a championship victory - not just an appearance. Everyone needs to be firing on all cylinders, including him. Hoping he uses this constructively rather than pitying himself.

Next year he will have 10 goals in 18 games and the Rangers will lose the in the Conference finals.

I don't think that Henrik allows us to revert now that he's had a taste.

He played lights out for us in the playoffs and in the final 2 games of our series... but he also learned invaluable lessons. He didn't start playing his best until games 4 and 5. Had he been playing like that from the start it is hard to believe that we're not preparing for game 6 tonight.

Play like that every game. As long as he learned that this team should not revert.

Completely shocked Girardi doesn't have a lower body injury. Maybe he doesn't have anything worth mentioning.

At least the pinky issue explains why he had such a hard time passing.

It's the farthest he's ever gone to the playoffs. I'm surprised but it explains why his legs looked shot at the end.

If we're able to land a guy to quarterback the PP, Girardi should find more rest and less minutes per game.

Amazingly Girardi had 80 hits and 67 blocked shots in the playoffs and credited with only 20 giveaways (although it seemed like he had that many in the Finals alone). He definitely plays a brutal style. When you look at the numbers for Stralman who I thought was the 2nd best defenseman behind McDonagh in the playoffs (and most consistent all playoff long) had only 37 hits and 20 blocked shots. Just goes to show what kind of beating Girardi takes.

But that dislocated finger can be a reason for so many bad passes and failed clearing attempts in the Finals.
