2012- ATD -End of the World Draft- Sign Up Thread!

Considering how little fun the administrative tasks are for most people, if VanI is up to it, I don't see why we shouldn't let him handle the clock, PMs, etc. He was always quite good at it in the past.

I am out of this one, by the way. Like 70's, I strongly considered hanging em' up after my last win, but stayed in it because I thought it would be somehow more honorable to give someone the chance to beat me. And then I came back for 2011 because the league was at 40 teams. Unless the 2012 draft includes free lap dances, I think the ATD has run out of enticements for me, but I'll enjoy watching.

New task for rookie GMs- give lap dances to Sturm?

so I think we're all set with the rules , we just need 28-32 teams and we should make the lottery (how is it done?) so we could start looking for switching position or plan a drafting strategy.

We also need an official date and to confirm it via PM with everybody.

I could take care of some of this , but I will only get my privileges back the 18th.

I would REALLY like to know soon which position I am and start looking at potential 2nd 3rd and 4rd rounders available near my spots.

My opinion: Give it until the end of the week to give returning GMs time to read Billy's PMs and decide whether they want to sign up or not.

Then this weekend, post a single solicitation on the history of hockey board.

We aren't starting the clock until the 23rd at the earliest, so let's give vet GMs a chance to sign up before charging into things.

I'm not sure if the original post is updated , but we are at 26 teams if it is.We only really need 2 other teams ( 14 teams conferences and 7 teams division ) , with a possibility to include more if some known GM comes in late.I agree to wait until this week-end , but we should definitely make the lottery monday the 16th , giving us 1 week to prepare. If the draft starts the 23th , it doesn't mean people won't start drafting a little bit earlier , it's just the clock that'll be started the 23th.

thoughts?

Technically, we can start once we hit 28 teams, but why rush to start if it means locking out good GMs who don't check their PMs every day when the draft isn't on?

No reason to rush Reen. I think you're the only vocal person on this matter like this so just let people join at their own pace, and see when the start date ends up. Just play it by ear....Er....eyes since its a computer.

I certainly don't want to lock good GMs out , but when do you plan on starting the draft clock officially and when do you plan to make the lottery if my suggestions are too soon?

Eh? I'm just giving my opinion and don't see any reason I shouldn't.Not like I'm trying to take control or anything , just discussing and saying what I would prefer as 1 vote out of 28+.

Oh no means did I mean that offensively, just kind of a relax a little bit post. Your posts get seen more due to the fact that you post more than anyone, so there shouldn't be any confusion that we are setting hard dates right now. Just be patient and let this thing develop. If we can start the 23rd by all means we will, but let's not rush anything.

Not my fault if I'm an ATD maniac , it's actually a legit personality disorder.Or a legit nevrosis.I could write the symptoms and causes later on.

Is that including me or am I a red headed step child?

Nobody cares about you.

:sarcasm:

27 returning teams, plus hobnobs as a pending entry.

With turnout like this, I don't think we should post a general solicitation on the HOH board. Perhaps targetted PMs to anyone on the history board that anyone would really like to join.

I won't be taking part this year.

I considered entering and cutting back on the time I spend, but I always end up spending more time than I should on it.

The ATD is great, but I'll be watching this one instead of participating.

Dammit. There goes my chance at revenge. :p:

Well we have 27, potentially 28 teams, now with a week and a half left to go. Let's push for 30-32 teams but if we can't get 30 teams then so be it.

Hey, no need to rub it in!

Are we shooting for an ideal 32 teams still since we are so close already?
