No clear cut MVP this year, but #NYR prospect Oscar Lindberg follows in Silfverberg's footprints, wins Stefan Liv Memorial Trophy.
Wow. Great news on Lindberg. Kind of like the Conn Smythe?
Iffy about thatIf he plays well, maybe we amnesty Richards and go Stepan, Brassard, and Lindberg as our centers next year.
Ideally, Lindberg should be that 3C that teams would die for. Pahlsson/Berglund/Steen types.
Stepan should ideally be the 2C and we need to draft that #1 guy by tanking next season. William Nylander.
I don't think Stepan has proved himself to be a 1C yet. BUT, don't you think it's unfair to cap a 3rd year player that has improved every season he's been in the league and has had a breakout year this year? Why can't he be a 1C at some point?
Don't think he has the talent/tools to match up with his crazy hockey IQ. If you give Kreider Stepan's brain, he'd probably be a franchise player. Stepan is still relatively slow and undersized.
Was Lindberg on the NYR reserve list to be eligible for the playoffs this year?

Not sold on Nylander as a #1 center. He's 5' 10": http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=38703

Yep a 5'10 guy can't be a #1 center....Crosby, datsyuk and giroux are lucky they are 5'11 lol
Yet if we give him a mulligan on his awful start, he's been playing near PPG hockey for months now.
If Kreider/anybody else who was more physically gifted than Steps had his brain, they'd be putting up 100 point seasons. Stepan can absolutely be a franchise player based on his smarts. He has to play like this for more than one fluke half season, though.
