It's sickening watching your #1 C earning $12Mn in real money ($6.6Mn cap) averaging .5 pts a game, the PP being abysmal for the past decades, and no secondary scoring...and worst of all, very boring hockey!

Yeah but i feel we have better players than what renney had. we have also drafted well since 2008
Agreed...Renney had Jagr, no one on this current team is close to that kind of production. Can you believe he put up a 123 point season with us...under Renney!

after tonight, they are tied for 7th, since Hershey won their game against the Adirondack Phantoms...
Whale played a great game. Went with the lady for the afternoon. Very enjoyable hockey. The players are playing incredibly smart. Springfield was #1 in the east at one point, they are now at #3, but the Rangers seem to have their number. They play them really well.
Whale is a playoff contender for sure

Mission gave up the first goal on a bad rebound. What else is new. This is his Achilles Heel.
The second goal had Kreider driving to the net and Noob passed it to him from behind the net. Great vision by Noob who was fighting for the puck behind the net. Once again, when Kreider does the right thing, he's a killer.
Bourque got a goal by hustling, getting the puck and then using a combination of smarts and skill to shoot a tricky shot that went in. He pretended like he shot the puck, purposely missed the puck, which led to the defenseman going out of position, and then Bourque shot the puck and got the goal.
On the third Hartford goal, Parlett caused a turnover, sent the puck to Tessier who drove the puck to the hash marks, slides it over to Parlett who just blasted it up into the net. Perfectly executed 2 on 1.
Spring scored on a bad angle shot from the left of Mission. Shouldn't have given up this goal.
Mission played well, but keeps having trouble with rebounds and also gave up a "rookie goal". If he could improve his rebound control while continuing to improve his lateral movement (which showed a lot of progress this season), he could be a top-end AHL goalie and maybe even make the NHL.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME
1. Kreider: Another excellent game where he did exactly what he should - take advantage of his size and speed. Going down to the AHL was like medicine for a sick guy - it made him 100% better. He's actually good now. I've attacked him the whole season to the point where people thought I have a personal vendetta against Kreider, but he's been really excellent since going down. This is not the same player I was watching until February.
2. Mission: Hartford got outshot 32-18, yet he gave up fewer goals than Spring's goalie. Spring is the third best team in the East, which makes this that much more impressive. Good job!
3. Bourque: Scored a goal, hustled hard, flashed his speed and fearless attitude. I really hope he can make the NHL. It would be a lesson for everyone and a great triumph of the human spirit over any physical limitations. I love this kid and if you had been watching Hartford this year, you would've loved him too.

I think he will make the NHL next year, but it's up to him and nobody else. If he spends the summer working on his skating balance, he'll start next season in the NHL. If not, he will keep riding the bus for a middle class salary in the AHL.

I've been a big fan of Kreider's going back to his draft year--he and Kassian were my targeted players that year and Kassian was long gone by the time we picked.
One thing that disturbs me about Chirs is season after season he seems to get off to slow starts despite the fact that he always seems to be in great physical condition. He makes the most noise in the second half of seasons. I'm thinking it's mental but he needs to work on this.

Looking back over the 2010 draft in retrospect, Fowler and Tarasenko are the only two players picked later in the first round who have done much in the NHL.. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl2010e.html
Tarasenko is off to a good start with 13 points in 18 games but beyond that, it's not looking like there are a lot of other players who would have been a better pick for the Rangers. Maybe 2010 just wasn't a super deep draft and the Rangers did make a good pick for a guy who fills a gap in the organization as a big, hulking defenseman.

There are more than a few players from that draft that I'd take besides those you mentioned. Just cause they have not made the NHL yet means nothing.. You think any team would not take Bjugstad over Mcilrath at this moment?

If McIlrath turns into a top-4 tough, physical defenseman he is a good pick at #10. Anyone dissecting it further is playing the hindsight game or attempting to say "I told you so".

Hindsight does not apply here anyway. Everyone knew there were much more talented players on the board, we went with DM because of what happened in Philly that year. They saw their chance to get a legit tough guy and did it at the expense of the rest of the roster depth.
I told you so is for babies, my whole deal is with slats and company and holding them to their 'professional' moves. He's way past the point of benefit of the doubt.

Would you have been okay with Cam Fowler?
Because we all know that there was a major rush on forwards in that draft. Fowler and Gormley should not have been available at 10. Burmistrov, Connolly, Niederiter, Johansen. All of those guys went higher than we all thought they would. The next grouping of forward, Schwartz, Tarasenko, Bjugstad were all considered to be okay picks in the range they were taken.

I thought they were going to take Fowler if he was there, plenty of pre draft talk from Clark when it came to Fowler. I wanted Tarasenko after Minny took Granlund. I would not have been upset with Kuznetsov, Forbort, Bjugstad or Watson.

I am not going to lie, I wanted Fowler, however the "experts" were very surprised by the way that went.

I'm always a bit skeptical of guys that come out of nowhere and rocket up the rankings in their draft year. I wanted Tarasenko but would have been happy with Fowler or Gormley if they were set on taking a defenseman. Mc was pretty much the only player I was adamantly against, so I was very bummed out needless to say. He seems to be progressing though, so we'll see, but it'd still much rather be rolling the dice on our future with Kreider + Tarasenko.

I totally agree with you here. People are always looking for away to say "We should have done this instead of this." Obviously the Rangers are not going to take the absolutely greatest player available and he will turn out to be better than every player taking after him.
For example, in the 08 Draft Rangers took Del Zotto 1st round. Do you think management or the fanbase is pissy considering what John Carlson, who was taken a few picks later, has become? No. I guess whichever player makes his NHL debut first is obviously going to have the best career. Just don't tell Lundqvist (taken after DiPietro) and Datsyuk (taken after Stefan) that.
I wanted Tarasenko. But I was hoping for McIlrath to slide to 2nd rd for the Rangers to take him.
I read post draft that a lot of teams had him ranked as a 1st. I believe I read somewhere that Stars would have taken him at 11.
He may have been drafted a little too early, but they needed that kind of Dman.
