The whole fiasco is confusing.

What's confusing? Other than the fact he's actually batting CLEANUP tonight

Guys appeal suspensions all the time - MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA - and play through it while the appeal process is ongoing, it just doesn't usually get this much play for obvious reasons (the player involved, the length of the suspension, etc).

I hope he goes 4 for 4 and hits 4 grand slams.

My team is nothing short of a joke ATM and I hope we can land one of Rodon, Beede or Turner.

Having a one two punch of Sale and Rodon (two lefties) would be sweeeeeeeeeeet.

P.S. Can't wait to to see Adam Dunn play somewhere else. The guy is probably the worst UFA signing EVER.

Preach! I usually go to at least a few games during the summer every year but this season there's no way in hell I was spending money on that sack of crap. That whole organization needs a shakeup from the top down. Just blow it up and completely rebuild the farm system like the Cubs. Unfortunately, Williams and Reinsdorf think that stuff is beneath them so I'm sure they'll say something idiotic like "this was just a perfect storm of things going wrong this year and we are just a few players away from competing" or something stupid ****.

I can care less what your idea or anyone's idea of what comment is stupid on these boards, everyday I hear some arguement about how someone comment is stupid and then no follow up or rational or logical rebut, other than just calling someone stupid...

The most over looked aspect you all over looking and just looking at the stupidity of the comment b/c the whole thing is stupid.

As major league player in any sport - by default you are a role model; if you want to be or not!

Your basically saying under the right circumstances and certain amount of money, you can fight and get away with cheating and ruining your body, with little or no real consequence.

As a major league player doing any type drugs for whatever reason , your are telling minor league players, college players, high school players, and KIDS! that its okay to do this and either get away with it or slap on the wrist.

And while everyone else is accepting the inevitable, this one ****** A-F@$% wont back down and making the game, his organization, and other players a laughing joke.

Unique suspension far in excess of those outlined in the drug policy (and 3x the second largest suspension given out as a result of this whole sequence of events). Suspended for over an entire year. Losing out on over $30 million in salary. BEYOND a forever tarnished image and legacy (far worse than that of just about any other steroid user, positive test or otherwise). If only he was given an actual penalty so the league could make an example out of him. That would have been nice to see.

Too many guys that operate outside the norms. Griffey Jr. was a washout in his early 30's because of physical wear. Rivera's been pitching since the beginning of time with few problems, why is that?

Rivera pitches 60 innings a year, can't really compare him to an everyday player durability wise although to his credit, closers do usually flame out in a few years and he's been doing it 15+. Guys like Rivera, Nolan Ryan, Cal Ripken etc are the exception instead of the rule when it comes to durability.

The Griffey thing was weird though, he was an all-time stud in Seattle then the minute he went home it was like he was cursed for life.

Not like he never had injury issues, but it was never anything so long term or so persistent in Seattle. Only major exception being a broken wrist. But he was always prone to random knocks and minor injuries. It just eventually got the better of him

A-Rod is the bat we needed. I feel dirty for rooting for him, because I am against PEDs but I want the Yankees to win. Just like Red Sox fans want to win with big papi, just like A's fans want to win with colon, ect.

Bad news is Jeter on the DL means a AAAA player will still be in the line up.

This is how I look at it as well.

I think I'm done with Giradi and crew. Pitching is one thing but this teams utter inability to situational hit or even try to play small ball is inexcusable. He just buries his nose in the binder and can't adapt. Don't get me started on Long.

Pettite needs to hang em up for good. LOL at getting your brains beat in by the worst offense in baseball (in my opinion) and a team thats lost 10 in a row going into this game.

So how will A-Rod be treated on Friday? I'm guessing very mixed. A lot of the Yankees fans in Chicago were cheering him tonight.

This team is unable to groom their prospects the right way. The other thing that pisses me off is that management seems to be in love with players who swing for the fences, have zero plate presence, strikes out once every other at bat and I'm not even going to touch the Robin Ventura fiasco.

Like you said, Rick Hahn and anyone who worked under KW should get the boot A.S.A.P. in order for the Sox to retool properly and compete in the next 2 to 3 years. As of today, the future is looking pretty dark but we might get a ray of sunshine if we end up with a top #3 pick.

I was about to say here here but realized you were talking about the Sox and not the Yanks.

Feel like we have the same problems and why I am TIRED of management here doing the same thing. Team wouldn't know how to manufacture a run if Giradi had it in his damn binder

Of all the things A-Rod has done THAT was your breaking point with him? Hell it's not even the worst thing he's done on the field (see Game 6 2004 ALCS).

Him yelling mine is no different than John Madden yelling 'Ace!' at Mario in the playoffs.

Arod gets way too much crap. There are plenty of ********** in professional sports who bring just as much on themsleves as Arod. The difference is that Arod is one of the best to ever play the game and signed the two biggest contracts ever.

Yankees definitely can use him right now.
