2009 Born for the 2025 OHL DRAFT

Petes took a swing on Gerry DiCunzolo and I hope the Petes can find a way to get him to commit. Crazy year with Shattuck St Mary’s 140 points in 58 games.
Article on the Petes’ site has a short statement from him and he says he’s honoured to be a part of the organization. Hopefully a good sign.

The kid windsor took first. Top 10 talent but the knee…. Anyone have any info on what in the knee, how recovery has been, who operated on it??? Seems like a steal if hes 100%.

I 100% believe that Kaczynski will report. Soo doesn't get a comp pick if he doesn't, so it's grounds for termination if Raftis doesn't get him to come.

Guessing they are playing the long game with Daley. We don't need him to report this year anyway.

Let's hope both end up in red and white.

With last year's draft debacle fresh in our mind, and a string of playoff misses and early exits for teams he's built, our GM can't afford to continue the mediocre path this illustrious organization has been on.

I'll reserve judgement of the draft for the future, but my patience for his management philosophy expired a few seasons ago. Put up or shut up!

Jackman is the big name here. Most had him earning at least an invite to the NDP camp. He has a very high offensive upside but consistency is an issue.

One of the elite Americans so he should go fairly high in the first round
28 to Attack hockey

This. And also, if a 10th round pick has a very slim to nil chance of making a roster anyway, and I'm a GM, I'm for sure leveraging networks and good will to pick player A over player B, in hopes that that good will will be returned down the line when vying for a better player that may pop up among the same network. This isn't snatching the dreams of some undrafted kid, as some parents may believe, it's the way of the world.

Thanks for the insight, though it's admittedly a favour game up in those rounds, too bad for kids deserving the recognition, probably why vision software will take over
Please look up who Barch's father is...Krys Barch, and Daley's father also, then tell me about it being wasted picks.
yes know who their fathers are, and the history in Sault with racial / drug issue, why he lost his mind and coach John V forced out of job and to leave town with what happened with Trevor sr. wasted pick. a gamble with very low odds even with John V now at hockey USA, hounds have done this too much. Also seems like this draft was a fund raiser for many mid to late picks, anyone ever seen this kid play ? Nikita Ilchenko 3 pts? 8th round? and more like that…What did that cost? At least waste something further back. Give it to someone deserving. But that’s the hockey “business” How many wasted picks for money or favours?

that’s a big accusation that all these OHL teams truly need $5 or whatever for a draft pick .there may have been 1 cash for picks pick, but that’s it.

do you know that the more realistic reason a kid didn’t get drafted? 40 more Americans drafted this year pushed out the bottom 49 Ontario kids and like most, dads always think jr is better then what they actually are.

every year the dads come onto here to complain about OHL conspiracy’s as to why little Johnny wasn’t drafted when the brutal honest answer is…he want good enough

I’m with you, I think the narrative is overplayed year after year but the reality is there is always more than one that looks extremely questionable and that keeps the argument alive every draft.

There is definitely more than one situation this year that looks bad and that’s all parents need to be frustrated. For example -there was a AA kid that wasn’t even a PPG in AA taken, there was a kid from North York with 0 points this year taken. These situations are hard to justify to kids that have excelled but didn’t get selected for whatever reason.

Decided to delete this post in favour of better judgement.

All I'll say is, some kids got drafted in favour of others, not because their better players

can’t be justified for many cases

Of course that happens, but if you’re a relying on being a 15ty round pick then that’s on the kid.rave no doubt that your a draft pick, don’t end the year with teams sat g ‘meh’ about your game.

Dads are always so terrified to say ‘my did needed to be better’. It’s already easier to blame the system then to say little jjohnny is t as good as I thought
