2009 Born for the 2025 OHL DRAFT

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

As it stands now, it really sounds like Warren and Murata are top 4 with zero doubt. There is talk about McGregor and Delisle in that top 5 as well as Wycisk. Is it looking like that is a consensus or is there still some disagreement in those five picks?

It also sounds like there is no clear cut #1 yet. None of the players are particularly big (yet). So there isn’t a monster factor like last year.

It really does look like a situation where teams will have a preference and they will pick along those lines.
I believe those top 5 are set, the order is anyones guess. I wouldn't agree that Murata and Warren are top 4 guarateed because Delisle, Wycisk and McGregor play a pro-style game already, while Murata and Warren are a little but more perimeter players, but highly highly skilled.

But you are correct, it'll come down to preferences for sure.

Max Delisle is going top 3
Tyler Lee is not a top 3 round pick, let alone a top 11 pick
No Brenner Lammens? Cannon Thibodeau? Alex Forrest? Brayden Bennett? Matthew Henderson? Noah Laus?
Your picks 19-23 aren't going first round

I'll put one together after OHL Cup

McLaughlin would have been an easy top 10 pick if he didn't miss the season due to injury. No chance he gets past London at 23....if he still happens to be on the board.

Like I said I’ll be horribly wrong. I just wanted to take a wild stab at it

The main guys that dive deep into this and can pride real opinions won’t do a mock draft until after the OHL Cup. We’ll just need to wait on it. There is no reason for them to do it at this point until they are ready to release their final rankings.

Last year @Sam14 and myself did a mock draft with a team representative from each team making a pick and I created a first round draft graphic corresponding to each team users pick. Would there be some interest in doing that again?!
Yeah it was fun till people got triggered by someone else's pick and vetoed it to pick a different player.

Kind of took the fun out of it being scared to make the pick.

If it's a little more lighthearted and fun, giver, it's a fun great thing to do for fanbases.

Are you sure about that? OMHA has quite a few strong teams. I wouldn’t sleep on teams like YSE, Quinte, Barrie, Ajax, Niagara, Halton. This feels like a dad post. I was considering this a good year for the OMHA. We will find out on draft day.

Is Wyscick still there? Heard rumblings he went south of the border? Hope he stays with sun county.
Given the OMHA's week results at the OHL Cup, How many kids from those teams listed above will go in the first five rounds? Halton - OMHA champions 3-4 kids, Barrie 3-4 kids, YSE...etc.

Yes it will be a tough grind to beat the Top 3 GTHL teams, but not impossible.
Halton only lost 3-2 to JRC at Silver Stick this year. Also beat Vaughan, TRW, North York, not top 3 but top G teams. Moreover Oakville and Niagara faired well vs G teams, not blown out.

Super weak year for the OMHA.

Top kids are

Oakville - Forrest, Del Priore, Buchan, Sawayi, Weiss, Magri

Halton - Sementsov, Goalie (Vreughnhil or some), D'Amico

Niagara - Raynor, Christie, Partridge

Barrie - Chitaroni, H.Martin, Larmand

YSE - Edgar, Blyth,

Quinte - Munnings

Ajax - McAslan

Yes I agree, hopefully we can keep it fun and engaging and it is first come first serve for whoever is representing a particular team.

For those interested, @Sam14 is going to create a thread for this mock draft 2.0 with rules etc in the near future so be sure to look for that and contribute as much as you like!

What are peoples thoughts on Brenner Lammens? Have heard some whispers Sarnia really likes him & he fits what Letang loves. From all the rankings, mocks ive seen that would seem to be a bit of a reach if they took him at 4, but curios what others who've actually watched him think.

would be a reach at 4 but will be a top 10 pick. Right now barch is connected to Sarnia but I’m not sure I’d put much stock into it

Yes, I see barch 10-15, which is why I’m not sure it’s true
Well it's a Sarnia staple to screw up the draft boards/mocks/rankings lol.

Could totally see them prioritizing a kid who's a pest with some skill over purely skill like Murata, Warren.

Wouldn't be my favorite, but probably wanna surround Di Iorio Edwards Brown Kostuch Karimov Manza (if he's back) Beamish with some sandpaper/grit.

Still lots of time though I'm sure for things to change!

Would be funny if you guys snagged Delisle 1 spot before Owen sound gets him

The rumour that’s been out there for a while was that his dad is also going to coach the Sting as an assistant. Not sure if that’s actually true of course. He also has an outside chance to make the U17 US team so if I was Sarnia I would just wait till the 2nd round and have them say they will only go there as they will have some leverage.

Yah that wouldn't be a great look to hire his dad then take him 4th overall. 2nd round be much easier to stomach lol.

I am curious why you feel Sawaiya, MacAslan are top kids, is it the size? If then, why not Day on Guelph or Underhill on Halton? Moreover why Larmand on Barrie and Partridge on Niagara? Partridge skating needs a ton of work and his IQ is not level of some other players, like Scarpelli Halton or Krula on Oakville, both put up a ton of points for several years, but both need to build strength and size? Size is not everything, just one attribute. I have scouted the OMHA's for years and found a lot kids were overlooked because of 1-2" height, even though they are better skaters, have higher IQ and have a high high compete level.
