Caden Bell #88 on DMF looking pretty good on the stats sheet

RHD 6’0 165lbs 4 goals and 6pts in 3 games. Points in all 3 games so far

Hopefully he’s around at the 10 spot I’d like the fronts to get in on this guy 👍🏼

I’m not sure how the final rankings will play out but if you want a D-Man, jump on them early. Sounds like only 1 or 2 will go round one if the rankings play out as real picks.

Absolutely. Fronts have 10th overall pick I believe. May not be there by then but if he is- they have to jump on the guy for sure. Long way to 16(I think it’s 16- maybe 17)after that

i would say mcgregor has put himself into the top group, he has looked outstanding here. i think ryan kennedy posted he is a candidate to go 1 and while i dont know if i agree 100 percent, i dont know if he is wrong.

he also said he hasnt heard much about warren going 1, which i think is fair. alot of it is going to depend on who pics where.

Wycisk
McGregor
Murata
Delisle
Warren

i think it could go any direction but warren isnt as talked about as much as the others.

are there not overtime loss points being awarded in this tournament? Could've sworn they had them earlier today but just looked at the standings and teams with OT losses do not have a point?

Lucian Arniotis with 54/56 saves against the Toronto junior Canadians and the win. Wow crazy game for him. Only 5’10 hopefully kid can grow a couple more inches. Ryerson Edgar on same team with 4G and 4A in 3 games so far scored OT winner.

Edgar is fantastic. Had a long debate about him earlier this year and I still do not understand how he would not be taken extremely high with his talent level.

Had the chance to watch McGregor live in Sudbury last week at OFSAA. Not the greatest competition, but it was like man vs boys. He completely dominated kids 2 to 3 years older.

21 goals in 6 games and led tournament scoring by 14.

He was impressive in all facets.

Yea team scored a total of 23 goals I believe, he had 21 of them, on a side note, northern teams are only allowed players playing for their high school teams whereas southern teams the rule doesn’t apply. Not a level playing field.

Depending on how the OHL Cup adjusts draft lists, I have a feeling McGregor, as an Ottawa lad, will be drafted by the 67’s if they end up with the 4th pick. It looks like the top 3 right now seem to be in a pocket where if those three are not trying to game their landing spot, they will go top 3. I think Ottawa then lands on McGregor in the 4 spot.

If Ottawa were to end up with a top 2 pick, then I think they would go with one of those two guys over McGregor but outside of that, he’d be the guy I’d put $$$ on them drafting in the #4 and maybe #3 slot.

Agreed.

Was genuinely surprised how well St. Charles did considering.

The problem with scoresheet watching and not watching the games.

Bell is a good player, but probably projected more as a 2nd round guy.

Top 5 is set in my opinion with McGregor, Warren, Delisle, Wycisk and Murata.

Ask 10 different scouts, you'll get 10 different answers for their order.

After that it's a free for all, a lot of it will be based on team preferences with the variety of different style of players available.

I think maybe 1 or 2 dmen go first round, Forrest, Green, Henderson, Kunopaski, Johnson and maybe Nutting.

Players no longer have the ability to "game" their landing spot. Players have lost most if not all their leverage. Say you want to go play in the USHL, have fun...

Maybe for Canadian born prospects but I could see a high-end American say I only want to play for these teams and if another team drafts me then I will sign a tender with a USHL team and play there until I can play D-1

All a player needs to do is not show up to training camp. Then the pressure is on the drafting team to declare him defected and they trade him where he wants to go or they call the players bluff and risk losing the compensation if the player doesn’t report.

The pressure still lays on the drafting team. If the top 5 are all relatively interchangeable and then next 20 after that are interchangeable, teams won’t risk taking a player they will have a tough time signing. It isn’t worth it. IT is only worth it if the player they want is significantly better than the next pick.

IMO, the Defect rule busted that more than this new CHL/NCAA Agreement rule change will. IMO, the CHL/NCAA rule change will make it easier to sign players that weren’t interested int he league, not necesarily players not interested in a specific team.

I disagree, the alternatives to playing in the CHL are FAR less attractive now. If you're a top player, and every other top player in North America is playing in the CHL, you no longer have the "I'll just go to College" route, because your alternative is playing in the USHL. Trading defective players will no longer fetch you a third round pick, they'll fetch you ALOT more than that.

So trading a kid who doesn't want to report to your team but would report to another is almost even more enticing because you're receiving a compensitory first round pick and ALOT of value in return for that 1 player.
