Yea, you ROCK in soccer :P Sorry, its not really fair to compare like that. Hockey is number one in Canada by a far margine. Its not like that in any other country.

Soccer is the most played sport in Canada.

Obviously that isn't reflective in the national men's teams (our women's program is quite strong, that said), but the numbers don't lie.

Luc Bourdon is awesome.
I have only seen bits and pieces but others have also said he's playing well.
How about Gragnani-he was pegged as a 3rd round pick. Will his play in this tourney
hurt or help him?

Another ridiculous dive.

Yes, that's the last one. The ref has officially warned the Czech coach (who is German).

Nice shot Setoguchi. Nice save too.

Another face off in their end. 20 seconds left. We need to get guys to the net!!!!

The ref is German. The coach is Czech. I think this should be cleared up:)

haha yes, for sure.

Ugh. OT. I do not fancy our prospects in a shootout. Czech goalies tend to have our number in semi-final shootouts. :shakehead

We wuz robbed. This game should be over now. I have lost every shred of respect I had for Czech hockey. A shameful day for their program. Hopefully Canada can finish them off.

We're back on our heels. We must keep the shifts shorter and settle it down.

Now they are having delayed dives ..what a joke :biglaugh:
The spinaramma really sells it....is Mike Ribiero Check???
It was an impressive spin to say the least. It made me think of Rivaldo. But why in the world did the Canadian player touch him? Did he think the ref wouldn't see that? He put his hand right into the middle of the Czech players emblem.

And the little love tap? Again, there was no need for that, I guess from both players. They know the ref is calling all this stuff SO DON"T DO IT!! Don't put your stick on the player as you skate past.

Having said this, it's an embarrasing display by the referee. If he won't call it why would the Czechs stop? It's getting them a few PPs.

My only question to the fans at the game would be to ask if there's any hitting allowed in Czech hockey?

I played soccer all the way growing up pretty competitively and the kids who were awesome when they were younger quit when they got to high school because of hockey.

I agree. Crime and punishment just does not work in this game :)

Letandresse owned that entire shift. Excellent job.

Also, well played tournamnet by the Czech goalie. He did a superb job against Russia and again tonight. That's about all I can say for that team, glad to not have to watch them again in the final.

Two deserving players of the game. Both played exceptionally well.
What a game, what a game.

It got Croatia to the World Cup semis one time....

Is booing the Canadian anthem necessary? It takes even less skill to do that than it does to dive everytime someone opens the window to let in a breeze.
