When was the last time Kreider or Buchnevich less us in ice time for a period? For Kreider, it probably hasn't happened all season, probably not for Buch as a Ranger.

How could like your 12th best forward have the most ice time during a period? That makes no sense, doesn't even come close to making sense. This is not like Kevin Hayes having the most. He's not our best forward, but you could understand how that would happen.

Vesey who is lucky to even be in the NHL? Baffling.

It's really strange how he has to divide the ice time, regardless of whether the depth players are good enough. No reason the top-6 should be getting less time on ice than scrubs like Vesey.

I would think every forward during the course of a season who plays in the top 6 might lead the team for a period, maybe even a game. But the point stands, AV woefully underuses him. I really don't like how at the end of games when we are winning, he comes off his line for Grabner. Are we trying to win games or not? If I was Kreider, I think I'd confront AV about it. I wouldn't like it, at all. Its disrespectful, and a good way to get your best players against you. You don't bench your first line LW at any point in a game, unless he really deserves it and its to make a point for one game, certainly not to ice a more defensive lineup as a pattern in your coaching. f*** defensive reasons, he's earned the right to make defensive mistakes, if they happen. Your best players need to have earned the right to make certain mistakes. If that doesn't happen, you are going to have a locker room where no player is sure about their role, and they know their role is completely dependent on very SSS form.
