Honestly I feel like the coaching staff was trying to mold him into a defensive version of Lucic or something. I've just never viewed Chara as a hit everything in sight type of guy. He's a scary dude to be sure but he's not a mean player by any means. One of the more puzzling things of the past few years to be frank.

the shot wide ride on the Sekera feed by Hodgson was a good example of how you shield off a defender with your body and position your stick to catch a pass where it cant be stopped, just gotta salt off the finish because unfortunately it ruins the play when you dont score
