I actually took some hope from how Myers recovered from flubbing the pass.

He played the 1 on 1 like he used to. He used his reach, size and positioning to take the Lightning player to the outside then pokechecked the puck off his stick and got it back.

Lately he's tried to close on players to hit them and they usually walk right around him.

It's a small thing but hopefully he builds on it.

Our offense has gone stagnant. Just a few weeks ago we were in the top 5, now we are near the bottom :shakehead

The lack of offense from the backend is a big reason why. Aside from Ehrhoff our second leading defenseman in scoring is Sulzer and Leopold with 4 points :help:

We have no swag, no confidence, no identity. Honestly, we suck. This might be the worst I've seen the Sabres look in my lifetime. It's incredibly hard to find a consistent bright spot out of this group right now.

The playoffs are a pipe dream. Quite sad considering I was fully expecting a playoff appearance heading into the season.

Your post is very curious considering they are tied at 1-1 heading into the 3rd period on the road.

Why now?

There's a reason why players like Chara don't have many open ice hits. Even he who is said to be such a "mean" defensemen doesn't hit nearly as much as people like to say he does. He plays a very positional game. I'm not sure what tapes the coaching staff have watched of big defensemen over the years but the way Myers was molded is wrong. Tallinder was the perfect partner because DEFENSIVELY that's how Myers will excel in the NHL. After the whistle and around the net he needs to be "meaner" but he needs to stop playing like the fictitious Chara and play way Chara actually plays. Even the good version of Ohlund is all I ask.

Its bad enough that I have to watch this entire team suck out loud...

It doesn't help that Rob Ray annoys the **** out of me every time he opens his mouth.
Night in and night out, it sounds like he's trying to talk with a mouth full of novacane.

Is everything "a job" with this guy?

ugh.

Lets win one boys.

This.... Myers has the tools to be a Chara.

I won't lie, I was watching the Rags-Jets game on my laptop, looked up, and noticed us celebrating. Thought it was a replay at first.
