Better than I expected, tbh. And that was before knowing Ullmark would miss majority of it.

Hard part of the schedule is out of the way. Goaltending wasn’t the problem tonight but the team plays with a lot more confidence in front of Ullmark.. hope he’s back soon.

Gaudette was lucky to make the team over Ostapchuk to start the season. He’s not a NHL player.

That was bad coveragr by both Stu and Sanderson but a what a weak call in OT and big divisional game. Refs killed it there Seider was already crousing to the back of the net , there is no way that love tap trips him.

We spend a lot of time on this board talking about the 3rd liners and backup goalies… but Stützle, Norris and Sanderson have been absolutely terrible lately. Batherson and Tkachuk haven’t been much better.

You have to have Giroux out there for the face off. A win wastes 30 seconds and lets you regroup. A loss and you are caved in until they miss.


Can’t have a 50% guy out there when you’ve got a 60+% guy, who also PK’s, on the bench.

That’s some serious recency bias. Our top 6 won us just about every game in the first 25.

Nothing more important in OT and 3v3 than puck possession. You spread the heck out to make checking you difficult and just play Harlem GT until great scoring chance presents. No low odds shots or passes to nowhere. Unless you have a sure shot, keep it going. Any O-zone pressure, better to exit the zone rather than lose it. It really is not all the difficult. Worse thing you can do is what Norris did there, stand still and try to dangle 2 guys checking you. Wow, not exactly brain science or rocket surgery there!
