They went frame by frame in the video and it looks like shoulder to head.

I saw a Devils player do that too last night when a Flyers player hit his stick and it was up high by his head, honestly can't remember who but I remember seeing it, like Hartnell's. It goes both ways, but annoys the hell out of me when anyone does it. Although you can argue its reckless use of the stick.

Every team in the league does it to some extent, but there have been Flyers who were notorious for it. Hartnell and Carcillo spring to mind immediately.

No problem, my sister was at this game and took great video of it. Decided to post it here.

She did a solid job

Great job by the Devils on bringing in the youth shore hockey teams and I hope they stick with that intro regarding different parts of the state - we've had a lot of discussion on here in the past about incorporating more of the state into the intro

Also nice to see we can use "Jerseys Team" again with that basketball team out of the arena

Damn I want a good video of this, seemed like a good intro, love to see the videos. Seems they went the classy route and just threw the spotlight on the conference banner that was already up there. I am ok with that.

Definitely love all the spotlights going bananas and focusing on the goal where "HENRIQUE!!!!! IT'S OVER!!!!" Happened, even with ****** quality that gives me chills.

Enjoy.

**edit: crap, it was already posted. By the person who took it none the less lol

For some reason the Flyers have Schenn fly around and hit people, he's a skilled player who they're trying to turn into another tough guy it's a shame. I said it in another thread but they turn into a roller derby team at any site of diversity and that's not gonna win them many games.

That's what they do. And I've said it a few times the last few days, but I believe JVR was traded because he didn't embrace the tough guy style.

I don't remember where the video is, but I remember at the end of the first period of the 6-4 Devils game last year. Hartnell punched Ponikarovski in the head like three times as he was battling for the puck, Ponikarovski moves further over and then he hits him really late, then afterwards, Hartnell's stupidity takes him off his man and Ponikarovski scored and right after that, Hartnell decides to cross check Bernier right in the face.

That's what the Flyers do. You'd think they'd realize that something needs to change after 30-40 years without a Cup.

Goons will be goons. Unfortunately the flyers are a goon team, and will resort to dirty tactics. Glad to see them 0-3. Even though I hate the rags and philthy, I would love to see philthy 0-4.

I think 1 game is excessive for that "charge". A simple fine to say "we caught ya even if the refs didn't" is the message that needs to be sent. I didn't see any Torres-esque intent in the hit, just someone trying to play the style his team has put forth for quite some time now. I see plenty of contact with the head missed constantly and from the blind side so a little contact from head on that would have happened even without the 3" jump into him at the last second doesn't bother me much. I wish they would be this fierce with headshots from the side though where the player can't see it coming to defend themselves.

"Too much, too soon." is my official take on this suspension as the first review of the year.

I see this more as resetting precedence to take these kind of hits out of the game. Same kind of thing the NFL is doing with blindside hits to a defenseless receiver.

Based on precedence from last year, should just be a fine to get him to repeat offender status but end of the day, this hit was pretty dangerous and unnecessary. NHL is being smart taking a tougher stand to eliminate these hits (will save them money from lawsuits in the long run as well).

Well, hopefully that's what they're trying to do.. otherwise, just chalk it up to good ole inconsistent Shanahan.

If your going to compare it to the NFL then take the comparison all the way. Its widely believed that fines do absolutely nothing reinforce to good behavior. They just make to much money for it to have any consequence. If that is the case, then a suspension is the only course of action and is thus understandable.

This of course is only true if the NHL's goal is truly to eliminate this style of hitting.

Well they do want to eliminate such style of hitting. That's why its against the rules in the first place. Unfortunately, its been shown that a two minute penalty doesn't change behavior much.. and even with the recent CBA changes, half a day's salary isn't much of a fine either.

Suspensions are the only way to really enforce some of the rules protecting players from dangerous hits.

Oh I agree, I was just trying to support the argument on why it should be a suspension when compared to how the NFL goes about their suspensions and fines for illegal hits.
