Big strong kid who is willing, at this point in his career. Still a rarity in the NHL and I give him credit for embracing this role. He'll get better with experience but the only arguable "heavyweight" he fought was Kastelic, who hit his head on the ice. Lilleberg is strong on his skates and lands on top usually, that's good for him. Frederic isn't a great fighter and pumped him pretty good, even though he showed a lot of heart. Has he gained some respect out there? Probably. But he isn't a feared fighter, not even close. Luckily, Detroit is one of the softest teams in the league so I don't worry about some tough guy caving him in.
I'd say the most interesting part about him was when he talked to a reporter about his background in the fighting business and still trains boxing with a personal trainer, in the ring with parts of the hockey gear on including shoulder pads. So he's obviously serious about this, should be helpful since he wants to play a physical game.

I tip my cap to him coming over and adding that to his game for sure. Just don't want to see a "too much too soon" situation. He is progressing overall as a player, very nice to see.
