Beautiful game by the Bolts. Had some trouble in the 1st half of the 2nd period, otherwise they did a good job controlling the game. Another low scoring game (for most of it) but they eliminated most things for Ottawa and cut down on any inflicted mistakes. Great game for Vasy, great game for Hagel, Pointer hopefully breaks out of his slump with that big goal

Thought Ottawa would be more of a problem but nice to get 4 points with a roster that is definitely battling through some stuff.

Wings fans seem to think 86 might face some payback for the slick-slew last game. Being a former Detroiter, I warned them that it’s probably not a good idea to run 86. Kinda like VL: you do that at your peril. They didn’t see Kuch get sticked back in the corner, preceding the trip. I think the RW bench and players know way better than to do something really stupid.

Could be, but Lilleberg seems even more likely to face a challenge at some point. Compher still hasn't returned from that hit. Personally, I'd like to see a little bit of animosity between division rivals, and if I were a Detroit fan I would really disappointed if there was no response at all.

Isn't Detroit a soft team? Do they even have a player who can challenge Lilleberg?

Well, we now have at least two wins that I wanted from this week but now I want more. Lets go 4 for 4!

I like that Guentzel got split up from the top line. Point and Kuch can carry someone and Goncalves didn't look half bad with them.

They are very soft but Lilleberg isn't some intimidating fighter. My money would be on Chiarot, maybe Rasmussen.
Care to elaborate, maybe because he looks like a teenager? I'm just looking at his stats, 3 established heavyweights challenged him over a short period of time and it didn't go well for them. Since then he's been left alone, even after that hit in Detroit he played the rest of the game and they didn't retaliate. So I think he's gained some respect out there.

Big strong kid who is willing, at this point in his career. Still a rarity in the NHL and I give him credit for embracing this role. He'll get better with experience but the only arguable "heavyweight" he fought was Kastelic, who hit his head on the ice. Lilleberg is strong on his skates and lands on top usually, that's good for him. Frederic isn't a great fighter and pumped him pretty good, even though he showed a lot of heart. Has he gained some respect out there? Probably. But he isn't a feared fighter, not even close. Luckily, Detroit is one of the softest teams in the league so I don't worry about some tough guy caving him in.

Was at the game and then rewatched it on TV several times— I think Brady had the wind knocked out of him, but the resemblance to Matthew’s act after getting kneed by Kuch was uncanny.
