That defense on paper is atrocious. If it wasn't for a historic first half we would be replicating last season's playoff push. We are playing some pathetic hockey the last month. Especially considering the roster on paper.
The team came out this season mad and embarrassed they missed the playoffs last year! That fire has since burnt out for sure now.Feels like the last 20 or so games we are watching a totally different team. Have team's adjusted or are we just not playing hard enough? I remember early on we were first to every puck. Making all the right decisions. Kuch and Stamkos could pass the puck. Those were the days.

But those games still happened. We're 7-3 in the last 10 games too which I don't consider too bad. And I don't blame the team for taking the foot off the gas a little bit lately, we've pretty much secured a playoff spot and playing with 100% effort night in and out will only make the risk of injuries bigger. The play as of late may seem bad compared to the start of the season but honestly it has been just fine. It just feels a lot worse because earlier this season it seemed like we just refused to lose games. If it wasn't for a historic first half we would be replicating last season's playoff push. Do you ever get tired of trolling?Boston has tied it at 2 after 2. You can bet they smell blood. The Atlantic is there for the taking.
Vassy won 3-4 of those 7 on his own practically. He certainly could do that for a series in the playoffs, but not an entire cup run.But those games still happened. Sorry, forgot it’s all peaches and roses for you.Do you ever get tired of trolling?

I'd rather go in with home ice advantage and a clear advantage in talent then hoping our goalie stands on his head.Vassy won 3-4 of those 7 on his own practically. He certainly could do that for a series in the playoffs, but not an entire cup run.
So thats a no thenSorry, forgot it’s all peaches and roses for you.
I will guarantee you, if the playoffs started today it would feel like an entirely different team than what we've seen in this game. Good teams will step up in the playoffs, you don't need the Presidents Trophy to win the Cup. Just take our 2015-16 season for example, we were pretty mediocre but when the playoffs started it felt like a different team and we were one goal away from reaching the Stanley Cup finals for second year in a row.Vassy won 3-4 of those 7 on his own practically. I think we have different expectations...YOUR defense is atrocious?? Try living with
Scandella - Nelson
Beaulieu - Ristolainen
Falk - Antipin
For most of the season. And if you can even believe it, it was way worse back when Scandella - Risto was the top pair, leaving the bottom 4 an absolute train wreck.
Matt Tennyson was logging over 21-22 mins for the first 10 or so games due to injury. Matt freakin' Tennysson!!
So don't complain Tampa fans, you have no idea what an atrocious defense looks like

Long way to go. This team does need a real kick in the ass, and hopefully if comes in the form of a really good vet that wants to come in here and win.The thing that is worrisome about this team is that we seem to be playing our worse hockey and Boston and Toronto seem to be peaking or playing better than us going towards the playoffs. Hopefully we didn't peak at the wrong time.
That’s the hope, that they can flip a switch. Sure would be nice to let Toronto and Boston battle and have home ice vs the winner, but we may be taking the hard road.I will guarantee you, if the playoffs started today it would feel like an entirely different team than what we've seen in this game. The team has gotten comfortable because the players know where they are in the standings but it's a different story once the playoffs start. No team is ahead of another and everyone has an equal chance of winning a series so they know they have to give their best. That’s the hope, that they can flip a switch. Toronto....Boston......Pittt....big ask. Not impossible IF they flip the switch.
