I don't mind them at all.

When I am watching the HNIC triple headers my interest always decreases through the games.

I really can't see this changing in the foreseeable future.

Three CDN teams already use the late time slot, which is primetime for them
The Leafs and Habs will always be CBC's biggest draw and will help generate the most revenue for the CBC.
The Sens and Jets will get the matinee starts because that is when they can be given national coverage instead of the regional mess like last year. This actually helps the teams because they get more national exposure.
If QC gets their team they will also be a matinee team so they aren't going up against the Habs.

At the end of the day there can be no disputing that the Leafs and Habs have the largest fanbases by far and therefore should be given primetime slots by the CBC.

These early starts will also help to raise the Jets profile in Europe - and boy, are they gonna love Chevy's North-American-Behemoth team building strategy... :sarcasm:

I'm not sure we can expect it to stay this way next year. I'm sure a big push for it this year has to do with maximising CBC's national advertising revenue with so few weeks to work with. Next year they'll have all those missed Saturday's back, and it may not be worth it to CBC to try to air games all day every Saturday. Supply and demand. Too many national games, and the advertising rates might actually drop!

The American Center Ice doesn't get TSN-Jets, so if it isn't on CBC, I'm stuck with the other team's announce crew. Try watching a Jets vs. Caps game with Capitals homers announcing... :shakehead

I am not a fan at all of the 2pm starts. I work weekends so it is a pain. I can set my hours so I guess on the 19th I will be working 4am - noon but all other 2pm starts I will be giving away to family members. I wouldn't mind 5pm starts.

I agree with the CBC feeds. We get the third strings and it shows.

I don't mind the 2pm starts, it makes for a LOOOOONNNG afternoon of drinking.

Drinking at the game, cabbing home, drinking at home with the buddies, pack it in at 12:00 midnight haha!

Afternoon games went quickly in our ticket draft because we were all looking for a game to take the kids to.

I definitely noticed an increase in kids at the Saturday afternoon Flyers game last year.

I'd much prefer my Saturday games to be in the evening as well, but I just assumed this was a way for CBC to make up for lost games. I'm not sure that they'll do triple headers every Saturday from here on out. Who knows, I guess.

Now Sundays, I like those to be matinees. Oddly enough we have just 3 Sunday home games this year, and the only one that is a matinee, is in the middle of a long weekend anyways (so no work the next day).

It could be worse!! I remember the good old days of Jets 1.0 where no Saturday games were televised except for Leafs and Habs. After receiving pressure from western teams CBC finally added a late game, but that was around the same time as the Jets demise (I think). Personally, if it means getting our team's TV presence out there and branded nationally I would play at 11pm if need be!! I guess my glass is half full. It could be much worse on Saturdays just like how it used to be in the 80/90's...

Yikes, not a game for kids that day. The Flyers fan passed out behind the net who was escorted out of the game was priceless.

Just to re-iterate. I hate 2pm starts.
