Yeah. How devious of him to get hurt. Clearly that's the argument people who don't want him retired so go with.
In the overall he was lifetime 23rd in wins and 16th in GAA. He was tops in 2014 and 2015 but slid to just above average later on. You can love him but really, he's not so wonderful. He's laughing all the way to the bank. As I said, Markov deserves his number retired before Price does.

To me, Price is just not up there with the likes of Plante, Dryden, and Roy.

He did everything a player could do to win a cup on a bad club. He wasn't just a great regular season goalie, he was tremendous in the playoffs leading bad teams to wins they had no business having.

Don't feel he should get the honour? No worries. But he certainly has a shot and I hope he gets it.

Although it shouldn't. Price signed a contract of $84M and then played only 30 games in the last six years of it. Sorry, but Price took the Habs for $63M plus in those six years and gave the team nothing. He doesn't deserve it, regardless of any of his play of the past (which also didn't include a cup). Markov deserves it more than Price does.
He definitely knew he was going to blow his knees out, and become addicted to alcohol because of it...............
If we had done a better job during his career, building a team, they would not have had to ride him like a mule just to get to the playoffs FFS..............the guy was amazing, and the only star we had since Koivu and Kovalev left.
A star on a lottery team year in year out, and covered all the issues over. Players laughed at the habs, we wouldn't have beaten an AHL team without him.
