Neither played top six roles with the Kings. That is what the Kings/Fans should be focused on.

Doesn't matter, the fact is they are top 6 talents that were drafted by the Kings. Making those picks allowed the Kings to acquire Richards.

I made a shift by shift video of Adrian Kempe in his semifinal game against the United States. In the process of trying to make more of the other prospects the Kings drafted.

Never had any video editing experience before, so go easy please.

Awesome! Awesome! That rocked

Every time the announcer said "Eichel " I heard "Einhorn is s man!" But that is obviously out of your control.

Kempe is like if Kopitar had sex with the Tasmanian devil

Great pick. He was the guy I wanted at 24 before the Kesler trade and I was hoping we would trade up.

I was wanting to trade the #29 and D-wight King to move up and get him.
Hard to believe the Kings got Kempe and McKeown. I thought both would
be gone before #29.

ADRIAN KEMPE LW, 6’2’’ 187 lbs, MODO, SHL
Biggest Strength: Strapping physically as late ‘96
Biggest Weakness: Hasn’t been go to guy yet

“If Adrian Kempe were born a few days later, we would remarkably be talking about a 2015 NHL Draft prospect with a respectable, full SHL year under his belt. As a result, Kempe’s potential is through the roof due to his physical gifts, ability, and youth. Monstrous pain in the ass to defend against is a gifted playmaker. Strong vision for a big guy and delivers sharp passes. Has a wide, low to the ice skating stride with quick cadence. Just an impressive physical specimen with smooth gears. Can dissect a play moving and set up a teammate with a difficult outlet. Hard nosed guy can set up an offensive chance just by getting in on the forecheck and pasting his target to the glass. A hard working player is very direct and straight forward with a splash of skill. Slight question mark offensively. Has not ‘gotten’ it offensively yet due to always playing up a level because of his size. Sky is the limit for this North American style forward once he matures and finally gets to match up full time against players his own age.â€

Kempe has had an amazing start on the season with Modo, and been their best forward in both games they've played so far. 1G + 1A against Skellefteå yesterday!

His beauty at 2:25.

Outside of the fact that was a bush league goaltending effort by the goaltender, everything else about that play was pretty awesome. Good acceleration, nice bit of stickhandling, I just liked how aggressive he was attacking the offense. He didn't shy away from contact.

Keep the updates coming Mrpm!

I will. You'll get blown away of his skating once he comes over, for his size it's craaazy good. He will most certainly be even better than he is now in the end of the season. One of few players in Modo that can make things happen on his own.

I do have to ask the obvious and it's solely based on this video

Was his team just badly over matched in this game? How is Kempe's 2 way game?

Kings missing their 2 best prospects made this camp kinda meh for me. But really hope Kempe can develop into a stud. Has all the attributes DL looks for outside of not being Canadian...

Great chance of being a "hidden gem" as he was one of the youngest players in the draft class, if he breaks out him/Porkins could be the backbones of keeping the Kings on top after the 03' class starts to fade.

He just turned 18 two weeks ago and is playing regular minutes in the top professional men's league in Sweden. He has 3 points in 5 games. I think he is going to be a gem.

Kempe with a goal and assist tonight. I was watching this game but the feed was average and I quit after Modo trailed with 3-0.

I just noticed MODO still won with 4-3...ugh.

Kempe on the 1st line with Toronto's generational talent Nylander, two kids.

That's pretty damn impressive for 2 18 year olds to be on the #1 line in a mens league.

How long until the Leafs fan base come calling to this board with Kempe proposals like they did with the Schenn proposals?

Not long I guess. ;)

Indeed, pretty odd to see two '96 born players on the 1st line.

I seriously hope Kempe will have a future with the Kings. We have not been very successful with these big Scandinavian players the last two decades.

This must have been a recent change, prior to this game he was a regular third liner. Nylander had missed a bunch of games, but was always on the first line from what I've seen. Not ragging on Kempe as I think it's amazing how he's playing as an 18 year old in a professional league, but Nylander clearly has significantly high offensive upside than Kempe (hence being the 8th overall pick vs. 30th).

Kempe started the season on the 2nd line, than he was moved to the 3rd. Than two games on the 4th, back to the 3rd again and this game on the 1st.

Yes, 85% of the games he played LW on the 3rd line.
