I'm hoping against hope that our guys at least show up tonight. I"m so tired of this being a ho hum game for our guys and for them it's a Stanley Cup game 7-level intensity.

My theory: one of the biggest reasons why rivalries are neutered nowadays is the massive amount of player movement, including between rivals. How the hell am I supposed to hate the Devils when Brian Boyle is playing there, or when half their roster and half our roster were on different teams just two years ago? It was very different back in the 90s when the Devils had Brodeur, Stevens, Daneyko, Niedermayer, etc., the Flyers had Lindros, LeClair, BrindAmour, Desjardins, etc., the Pens had Jagr, Mario, Francis, Barrasso, etc.

The redrawing of conferences and divisions dividing help either. Aren’t Chicago and Detroit in different divisions now? One of the biggest rivalries separated. Unreal.

I’m ready to start winning. This feels like a normal, competitive Rangers game. Only difference is, there’s no pressure to win and I can just enjoy the game.
