I'm happy that Loki is impressing. Never a bad thing to get production out of a fourth line doubleshift.

I get needing a guy like Barch. Who the hell would fight for us if we needed it? It's a step forward, though. We don't have TWO gone type players this year.

People keep trying to rush Barch out of the lineup...IT AIN'T HAPPENING BEFORE LATE APRIL! Pete and Lou both clearly believe in the enforcer role in the regular season, especially in all conference games. They'll have options to bench Barch later, but you gotta deal with him now.

I get that whole idea, but when you have the option to ice four solid lines, I don't want to see Barch touch the ice.

When we are injured etc., I don't mind Barch there. If he's still playing when Zubrus and Carter are back, I will be pissed.

9:07 minutes of even strength.

By comparion:

Zajac had 7:32, Bernier had 7:18, Elias had 8:46.

Too hard to check, but he may be leading the Devils forwards in even strength ice time. Only Clarkson, Poni, Kovalchuk, and Henrique (barely though).

Thanks for the info ;)

Bring up Yayo. Put him in for Barch.

Poni-Lotki-Kovy
Elias-Zajac-Clarkson
Zubrus(Josefson for now)-Henrique-Butler

Sexy

yayos been invisible the last few games he played before he went down. if he can play the way we all know he can, he will be the next star on this team. IMO leave him down for a couple more games and let matteua take barch's place. til zubie comes back. once hes back we wont have these line conversations as much anymore

While Loki is showing much more poise in the O zone than Yayo, he barely did anything on that play. He lost the puck and kept gliding forward. And Thursday he just happened to be in the right place of a perfectly placed Larsson shot. And I believe he could have been thrown out of that faceoff too.

Regardless, that is much more than Yayo has shown, and he's earned his ice time for sure.

Carter replaces Matteau in the lineup.
Zubrus ain't gonna be back for a while still.

It will be interesting to see the line composition in the immediate future, especially after Carter comes back and if Lokti continues to impress.

Kinda got the puck knocked off of him, but he looked behind saw Kovalchuk and continued to drive the defender back.

He's always trying to give it to Kovalchuk in shooting areas or give him room to shoot.

And that's 101 how you make Kovachuk a lethal scoring threat. Loktionov looks like a smart player with great vision. In short, a perfect fit for a sniper.

Yes, and that's the only faceoff he's won. 1 for 3 on Thursday and 0 for 4 so far today.

What's the difference right now, there's ONE guy on the team that can win a faceoff. Zajac ain't playing all sixty minutes, especially being on pace for like a twenty-point season :P

Yep.. Thanks.. Been lurking for awhile then decided to try and join the party. I enjoy reading the banter and GDTs.. And the memes are 'sterical!

Well, welcome aboard. Don't be afraid to join the fray. Don't worry about the barkers, watch for the biters.

Given what is available to our lineup now, having Barch in the lineup is no different than dressing somebody else in his place and then having somebody else in the lineup act as the enforcer spending time in the box

One way or the other we're still looking at 11 out of 12 guys playing regularly whether Barch is dressed or not

Get used to seeing this for another month and a half or so

Just a thought. I'm not 100% if this is ever done in hockey, but could we just have someone like Henrique take the faceoffs for Lotki but then Lotki would play center for the shift. Like if the line was Henrique-Lotki-Kovy, could Henrique just take the faceoffs but Lokti would essentially play center for the shift. Could this be done?
