Ok I'll say it..I want Lotki to center Kovy. There's clearly something there. Give him a chance.

Only problem is when you do that, you are moving either Zajac or Henrique to the third line.

I have no problem with it if we had Zubrus healthy. Then that third line is actually pretty formidable. Playing Zajac with Barch on his wing is a waste of Zajac.

holy ****! kovy beast mode activated

some other thoughts:

do southeast division teams just pump their arena w/terrible sound effects? noticed this in carolina and in washington. oh and msg interviewing alex's girlfriend is another example of the constant crap that is fed to us on this network

clarkson not having a good game so far.

zajac, where art thou?

henrique- i want him to start shooting some more, let's go

i would like to see the team be a bit more physical at times.

I know Clarkie's got the stats but he's off at the moment.

Did Loki even try to pass that to Kovy or did just get knocked off the puck? Either way I'm loving his game. Plays with intensity, good forechecker, and a pretty good passer.

Or pushing Henrique to the wing.

Obviously Peter Deboer is charmed by Loktionov. Kid got PLENTY of ice time in the 2nd period.

9:07 minutes of even strength.

By comparion:

Zajac had 7:32, Bernier had 7:18, Elias had 8:46.

Too hard to check, but he may be leading the Devils forwards in even strength ice time. Only Clarkson, Poni, Kovalchuk, and Henrique (barely though).

I never thought Zajac had the necessary anticipation nor quickness to really complement Kovalchuk's game. I think it's encouraging to see Lokitionov centering him.

Kinda got the puck knocked off of him, but he looked behind saw Kovalchuk and continued to drive the defender back.

He's always trying to give it to Kovalchuk in shooting areas or give him room to shoot.

People keep trying to rush Barch out of the lineup...IT AIN'T HAPPENING BEFORE LATE APRIL! Pete and Lou both clearly believe in the enforcer role in the regular season, especially in all conference games. They'll have options to bench Barch later, but you gotta deal with him now.
