yeah, i used him last game due to injuries hoping for some luck, he at least put up +1 4sog 1hit 3blocks, might use him again tonite, I'm just assuming he'll get some PP time again due to Rolstons familiarity with him

The PP in Rochester centered around Brennan's one timer with McNabb as the passer. He still leads the Amerks in PPG.

Will TJ Brennan still be on the number one PP unit tonight? I'm considering using him in a daily fantasy league but only if he's going to see that PP time. Can you tell me a little bit about his game? I'm aware that he has a big shot but that is about all i know.

Big shot is really all there is to him, and unfortunately for both the team and himself he's had trouble getting it on net so far this year. He has a little nasty streak for a smaller offensive defenseman, but nothing really notable. Nothing else about his game stands out and he probably won't hack it in the league when it's all said and done.

I do expect him to be on the #1 PP unit because #1 Coach knows him well #2 Coach hasn't had the opportunity to learn this team to the degree that he's going to make any line-up changes. At worst he'll be on the #2 unit.

I fully expect things to be exactly as they were last game, barring injury and the obvious swap of Porter (called up) for McCormick (reassigned).

While I don't really expect Brennan to become a regular NHL-er, it wouldn't shock me. He's looked a little better defensively each game (not saying too much, I know). He has an absolute cannon from the point and, while he hasn't been able to get it on net at the NHL level, we know from his AHL numbers that he is capable of doing it. Maybe it's just nerves or a little less time to shoot, but I think there's a chance he could become a real threat from the point, and there's usually a place for guys like that somewhere.

BTW, he's not that small - listed at 6'1" 213lbs. That's one pound less than Phaneuf, 3 lbs less than Subban and 6 lbs less than Orpik, to give just a few examples.

EDIT: He actually weighs more than Mike Weber, surprisingly. (And Doughty, Staal, Hjalmarsson, Pitkanen, Seidenberg, etc.)

Reading comments from players about Ruff being fired is sickening. These players sound like babies. They are a bunch of softies. They will get completely crushed tonight.

6-1 Leafs. I wonder how long it takes before Pegula realizes they fired the wrong man, Darcy Regier is the problem.

I read some comments on LeBrun's blog and other websites but I don't take it the way you are.

To me the shock they are expressing, and thinking....especially the ones who knew him the longest, is this:

"Holy ****, they fired Lindy. If they fired him, they could trade me."

Could act as a wake up call for that fact alone.

Rolston said he's had no work at all with Grig. I bet they get him in Saturday after they practice tomorrow.

That kind of sheds some light on why he's scratched

The one that bugged me was Vanek discussing how things inside the locker room were as good as ever. There should be some tension within that group when you aren't winning. It shows how comfortable everything was, and that is a major problem. I had a coach tell me before that a team full of nice guys isn't a good team. You need someone to rock the boat a little. I think we are sitting on a team full of nice guys.

Ah, that makes sense. Hopefully we see Grigs getting some action soon. Rolston's supposed strong point is working with young players, and I've already written off this season, so I think the best thing he could do with his time here is help Grigs, Hodgson, Foligno, Myers, Ennis, etc. take the next step forward in their development.

Grigs against the Islanders makes me excited, hope to see 10-11+ minutes.

As for tonight, I'm not expecting much. Maybe a close, low-scoring game - or a blow out.

Right, I've read them, but I don't get what he sees in them

I agree with you. I'm as excited about this team moving in a new direction as anyone, but there are many people on these boards that seem to have let their vitriol overwhelm their humanity. Yeah, hockey is a business, but it is also an entire life for these guys. The Sabres players especially have spent years with Lindy on the bench, on the ice, on the bus, and at plenty of community events outside of hockey. I think we can allow them to speak on both their business and personal reactions to the coaching change without reducing one to the other.

The one that got me the most was Pominville said all the players were waiting in line to say goodbye to him after he got off the bus.

He got fired, he isnt dying. And if the players loved Lindy so much, then what was the problem?

Seems like you're reading into that quote a little bit. Sure, he's not dying, but i don't see why it's a big deal that they're sad he was canned and wanna say goodbye.

It is a big deal. How many people here say Lindy has lost the team. Dont act like people haven't said that. The team loved Lindy, now I predict they fold even more losing Lindy. Good for a draft pick though.

Sure, but many of those players have grown up with him as their coach, you've gotta respect that andd see him off

Just because people say something on the interwebz doesn't make it true...Alot of people here like to spew what they THINK is going on with this team, but the reality is that the only people who really know are within that organization. Here it's just a bunch of agenda pusing and hyperbole.

I am honestly struggling to follow your logic. Clue me in here, please :help:

Maybe Im just overreacting because I think the wrong guy got fired yesterday. Darcy Regier should have been the 1st one out the door. If Ruff followed then so be it.

I dont think a team that is mentally weak is the type of team that will get a boost from a coach firing. The fact they are sad and shocked that Ruff was fired tells me they will fold. Thats what I am used to with this group of players. You guys honestly believe that all they needed was a coach being fired to become a good hockey team?

I don't think anyone has said that.

The logic here is astounding
