now i know why we signed Shattenkirk; dude's money in the shootout

If Chytil and Lias are too good for the A, that's a waste of time too sending them down.

I don't know if I'm the only one supporting Quinn's measured approach with Chytil. His situation is tough as a centerman, you need to learn how to play center in this league and don't know the reason why he's not being tried at wing, and he's probably being victimized in part by the depth chart, there's guys ahead of him.

Neither of them are too good for AHL. They didnt dominate down there. They've played well. I think they can still learn down there.

You might be right, but I don't know. Management is not thinking that, apparently.

Yes. Sort of.

The kid has talent, of course. But he hasn't proved himself yet. Do I think he should be in the AHL? I'm not sure yet....
I think he should be in the AHL

His underlying numbers at this level are fine but he’s not getting minutes. He ain’t gonna reach his potential playing 7 minutes a game with McLord

Reactions: Rangerfans and bl02
I follow the Rangers on other boards and Facebook groups and this is far and away the most fixated on things like draft position and constructing hypothetical trades. There’s a lot of fans out there right now very happy because the team is doing well. My personal mailing list is very excited.

Always remember, we are the outliers. It’s not a bad thing but posting is different here.

Mostly agree but there are parts of both games that I liked what I saw. They were sloppy and rude overall but some good takeaways too

DeAngelo, Buchnevich (who looks like he got hurt), Hayes, Pionk flashed both good and bad.

But collectively, they looked horrible. Good starts in both games, but they got their teeth kicked in after 1 in both (a little bit later tonight, but still.)

These aren't learning experiences, this is just relying on either your goalie to steal one or the other goalie to out suck yours. Had they come out and dominated the 3rd tonight en route to a win that would have been fine, but instead they did jack shit for the first 19:45 of the period.

The only positive to winning these skills competitions is that if they're tied with a bunch of teams in points later in the year, they'll be below them because of the ROW.

you know what my biggest note about this season is?

Chytil and Anderson aren't close to NHL ready.

18 months after being drafted. I'd like to see them a little closer.

Did you watch the first two periods of the Detroit game? If that qualifies as "flat out sucked", then you have a ridiculous unreachable standard.

Winning doesn't help? Only if your goal is always a draft pick. Silly.

I can see both sides of this. But then, the only position where it counts is with the players. They look happy winning no matter which way. Yeah, they have like 2 ROWs out of 8 wins, but still beats losing for the players. They continue to mature, but they probably mature faster by blowing leads but still winning.

I genuinely try to avoid the immediate reactions and give myself time to process.

I had a mentor earlier in my career who really stressed that approach (was a staple with the Sharks organization).

I find it generally serves me well.
Very true. I’m very reactive sometimes, especially on Twitter, and I regret it the next morning. Other times, when I take a step back and clear my head, things turn out alright.
