I cannot adequately express my disgust about Cates being the second line centre over Frost.

Cates could get 20 minutes a game and I doubt he would score 20 points in 82 games on the second line.

He needs to gather Flahr, Fletcher, and Tortorella. Then he needs to fight a goat, defeat it with maximum effort by shooting pucks at it sloppily, then eat it. That will impress all three and he will earn his shot.
