He's got 15 goals so far over the last 3 seasons. 15! 0 playoff goals in that 11-12 run, when we could have used every goal we could get. He's not in NY right now because of his play. If he was scoring 20 goals and contributing in the playoffs, I think he'd have a case. He made himself expendable and has only himself to blame for where he is.

SBOB--He "made himself disposable" for Rick Nash. The team wasn't looking to dump him. He had a down year--something that happens to just about EVERY player. Even if he hadn't had a poor year, Sather STILL moves him for Nash without blinking...because Sather (and some on this board) are more obsessed with names, stats and shiny new toys than they are in what actually makes a winning team.

GJG--He was "thrown into every NYR trade proposal" on HFBoards--and most of those posts were made by the same 5 or 6 people who never got over Dubinsky's holdout. Just an FYI--There is a huge difference between what HFBoards thinks about a player and what NHL officials think about a player.

Championship--There is so much wrong with your argument that it's tough to even know where to start. First, you continue the idiotic trend of judging Dubinsky, a playmaker, SOLELY by his goalscoring. Second, you talk about the "last three seasons" as if it is a huge amount of games. Those "three seasons" consist of his down year with the Rangers, a lockout shortened season where, due to injuries, he only played 29 games, and this season, which is all of a dozen games old. I'm not saying that on a goals per game basis, it makes it all that much better, but looking just at games played, those "last three seasons" consist of about 1.5 seasons worth of games. In that time, he has 63 points, which is a per season pace of about 42 ppg--and again, this is including his worst ever season, which accounts for the majority of the games in that sample. His ppg pace since going to Columbus puts him on a 55pts/82games rate.

Also, it's just rich to rip on Dubinsky for his 11/12 playoffs. Without Dubi, this team loses to Ottawa in round one. He was out injured for the entirety of the Caps series and he came back early against the Devils for all of 2 games. You want to talk about doing nothing in the playoffs? Just look at Nash last year.

Dubinsky was a LOT better than most of you gave him credit for. He's also 100% correct that it was idiotic for Sather to dismantle a conference finalist for no reason (and he was clearly referring to more than just his own trade). He's on the other side now, so I hope the Rangers crush him, but re-writing what he meant to this team because you are STILL butt-hurt over a short hold-out is just ****ing ridiculous.
