His head was slammed into the ice. Thought he did well against an established NHL HW. Will do fine against the Barch's and Boulton's of the world.

Absolutely - that fight wasn't going bad for him until the very end considering he was tangling with Parros.

Props to Parros staying there with him and motioning for staff to come over. Always liked Parros.

Why this excessive expectation for a fight though? I'm perfectly happy to see a game without a fight.

The monster got mashed

He really held his own with a super heavy in Parros. He looks like he knows what he is doing for sure.

Also like to see Parros there at the end tap him and stay with him while he was bleeding on the ice. Parros is a great guy for those who haven't had the chance to meet him.

Because fighting apparently means wins.

We have a team that can gain momentum through hard play and just... playing our game. Fights have a time and a place and personally, I'm all for a controlled game.

With the way the Rangers want to play, the rough part of the game is going to come about. They want to forecheck hard and hit everything. I wouldn't be opposed to Asham going with Prust, don't really care to see it but I am definitely in the group that believes it is good to have guys in the lien-up who can take care of that part of the game AND play the game.

:dunno: too much focus on fights in certain games. You can tell the players in the locker room detach themselves from the thought of someone dropping the gloves with Prust etc. If it goes, it goes.

That's how I feel. If it happens, it happens. I just like to have guys who can handle themselves if it does happen. Maybe that makes me old school, but that is part of the reason I loved the Mashinter trade and I liked the Asham signing. Both guys can play the game, get in on the forecheck, wreak some havoc and drop the gloves if need be. They don't NEED to do it to be effective, but if someone is taking liberties I would rather see them stand-up for someone than McDonagh or Nash.

Prust can beat up anyone he fights, as long as he doesn't score any goals. That's all that matters in the end.

Contrary to popular belief, the New York Rangers organization does have a better handle on who is more suited to be up here and in the lineup at this level than most of any of us do.

If the lineup stays as is, Mash will be in for Powe for the time being, and as long as Boyle doesn't suck, and Nash is fine, Kreider will go down to get steady playing time instead of warming the press box.

We'll see. Mash doesn't normally kill penalties although he did some of that in Hartford. We may need another body to pk.

Oh man...I just got invited to tonight's game by this chick I'm really not attracted to...What should I do?

:sigh: Time to take one for the team. Literally...

Lets Go Rangers!!

um, They sell beer at MSG. And if you have a friend meet up after the game and hook him up. Everybody wins.

How many games does Kreider need to play? He's played in 41 games this season. The Rangers have 33 games left. Connecticut has 23. Then there's playoffs. Last season he played 62 games, far and away his career high.

Practicing can be good. Don't believe everything Allen Iverson tells you.

He has played tentatively. His confidence does not appear to be high. He needs to play games to develop confidence. I am one who thinks we will need him in the playoffs so he needs to find his game before then. Going up and down and watching games is probably not making him feel good about himself.

I spent a long time liking Prust, and a long time hating Asham.

There hasn't been enough time for that to change very much.

If he's that sensitive, I think it's misguided to expect him to be a big player in the playoffs, anyways.

Luckily, I don't think he's that sensitive and his spirit won't be mortally wounded by any of this.

Thanks for the dramatic response. He doesn't need to be mortally wounded to lack confidence. He was a big player in the playoffs last year and could be again if he's playing instinctively and not tentatively. Right now, I'm bearish based on how he's played and how he's being handled. Still plenty of time to turn it around.

I agree that he lacks confidence. I think that's likely because he is playing poorly, and not because of anyone's reasonable responses to his poor play.

It's the organization's job to take a young player who is not performing (and who lacks confidence) and help him gain his swagger back. All players go through streaks in all sports where their confidence is shaken. Veteran players know how to turn it around by themselves. I think CK needs some help and I'm not sure the way he is being handled is going to get him where we all want him to be.
