“@stevezipay: Looks like Mashinter might be in vs Montreal: Kreider and Bickel last ones on ice.”

Excited to see Prust although I'm sure he will be looking to make a few big hits and throw down with someone on the rangers....

This team seems to be getting in a groove of sorts, but I still hold a strong belief that this team has to do something with the third line. The rangers are becoming a team that really only has two scoring lines. Move Boyle down to the fourth line and he will become the best 4th liner in the league. Defensive zone/PK specialist... he shouldn't be centering a 3rd line. He has never made players around him better and now we are just putting a 3rd line out there that we know WILL NOT score goals

Kreider has to find a place to play, How is sitting on the bench better than not playing? If he isn't going to play on the rangers fine...Then send him down and let Connecticut KNOW that he has to play there and not to send him back up.

I'm not really sure how to figure it all out but why not:
Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Pyatt-Halpern-Callahan
Asham-Boyle-Mashinter/Powe

send down miller

I know people won't agree with Halpern on the third line, but from what I've seen this season he has more speed/play-making ability than Boyle.

As I said in another thread, the Whale don't play a game for a couple more days. Let Kreider practice with the Rangers and let Torts work with him.

Yep, figures.

Torts going with the size.

Hopefully Mash will be able to skate a full shift after playing 3 games in 3 nights. 4 games in 5 nights. wow.

I think Mashinter may go with him. He may want to show he is willing to do anything to stick.

Haha...Mashinter is 6'4'' 235lbs. I would be shocked if Prust goes with him. That's 15lbs more than Lucic weighs, and we all remember how that fight went.

Prust and Asham is a more fair battle.

ahh well I wasn't aware of that, makes sense but we will see if Kreider is sent back to the Whale or not in a few days when they resume.... If he isn't sent down and continues to get scratched I'll really start to wonder.

This is how it went 2 years ago:

Prust would fight anyone if given the incentive. Wouldn't put it past him to try out Mashinter.

Rangers need Kreider and Miller to see more ice time. They've got to show what they can do on the ice.

Continuing to scratch Kreider isn't going to do anything.

LGR!

Mashinter needs to play a checking line just so I can call it Bangers and Mash.

Torts, please do this just for me.

I agree, doesn't mean Prust won't go with him. The Habs have no one else who would really except maybe Moen.

“@AGrossRecord: Definitely Mashinter and Gilroy in tonight's lineup with Lundqvist in net. Kreider and Bickel healthy scratches.”

Let Torts work with him on the defensive side but get Gravey out there with him to teach him to protect the puck along the boards. For a guy with that much lower body strength, Kreider isn't very good along the wall.

I am VERY excited to see Mashinter play. VERY excited.

I will not hide my love for the rough part of the game.

Me too man, this kid is big and will add that mean element that is missing right now. Asham doesn't bring it because he's too small.

Hate to say it but i wouldnt mind if Prust laid him out. lol

Prust sold out for too much $$$ and posted some pretty Pejorative Slured tweets. He got a great contract - while Montreal certainly overpaid - setting him up for life and you cannot argue with that though. Good for him. Asham signed for 40% of his price. I think the experienced warrior Asham has a good chance against Prust as he has something to prove here. Prust will bew very excited and high on adrenalin. Will be interesting to follow...
