See how Philly plays like we used to? Not a lot of shots but high quality. Will have a ton of odd man rush chances. Even if you hate AV he has HIS system

Quinn has no plan whatsoever

they hired Martin because they needed someone that actually knew how to teach defense at least.
Quinns system is chip-bang-dump. Give up possession. Chase puck. If you get puck in o-zone, pass it around the perimeter.

With a finesse/skill roster.

The 5 on 3, albeit brief, was looking very weak and then the terrible penalty results in a 4 on 3, which isn’t as big of an advantage but leaves SO much room on the ice. We have dynamic players. They KNOW how to get open and how to create movement. But they don’t. I don’t get it. Yeah, that one of the post was as close as it gets, but just overall, our PP is so... un-dynamic. It’s so stale and motionless.

He's too deliberate in my eyes, and often skates himself out of opportunities instead of into them. I love the guy but he needs to pick up the pace.

He's good when he's at the bottom of the circles when the cross-ice feeds are 20 feet, but going point to point for him is just way too slow.

I guess you might argue that a dumb system is better than no system.

And this is every bit as hard to watch as Peak AV right now.

@Edge let us know when you come on board team #FireQuinn

I’m not opposed it.

I think some of you all are gonna be in for a rude awakening when it doesn’t change much this season though.

That’s the root of the issue for me.

Some of posters on here are upset that I’m not getting the pitchforks and heading to the castle. My response remains that after you stab the king, there’s a whole castle full of shit that still needs to be fixed.

Has anyone been able to point to a game this season and discern exactly what our tactics are?

There's a weird vibe off this game. At the risk of sounding dramatic or speculative, I don't think all is ok behind the scenes with this team
Team needs a shake up. A big trade or coaching change. They are just too stale

Break up KZB and throw 'em a challenge. You're the vets on this team, each of you gets a line to drive for the rest of the night. Ice-time to be allocated based on effort

Would we rather have Hayes @7m or Trouba@8mil?

If you’re going to also have Kreider, I take Trouba. He’s been good for us. It’s the contract that skews our assessments but he’s led the young defense.

If it’s a choice to have one out of the three I’d take Hayes at 7M over Trouba at 8M or Kreider at 6.5M.

Panarin, Georgiev, and Rooney were the only guys that were noticeably good that period.

The biggest problem that I can see with sending Zibanejad and Kreider a message by demoting or benching them is that I genuinely don't think they can hit another level. They're just not very good top6 players at the moment, and I don't think it's a matter of flipping a switch.

Maybe it comes together later on in the season, but neither of them seem like the kind of player that can just decide to play harder, and find their games through determination.

Do they score in practice? Does anyone know? Serious question, there is absolutely no offense to this team this year. I think they are what, the 2nd lowest GPG in the league right now?

well Panarin but let’s see how that ages. So far so good
$11 million per year until he's, what, 35? that's not a good contract in my book. And I'll be darn surprised if we're serious contenders by then. So I ask: what was all this for? He's very entertaining but does not fit into our rebuilding plans.

You gotta be looking at some guys right now and really wondering.

Because unless they are hiring Scotty Bowman to coach this team, your vets ain’t gonna change on a dime.
I disagree.

If you do not respect/trust your leadership ( or in this instance, coaching staff ) it can change quickly when they are replaced with competent alternatives.

Two teams that haven't played for extended periods BOTH look more prepared and concerted in effort.

How the FUG is that happening??

Two teams we should have been all over from the start, both have made the Rangers look like they haven't played in 2-3 weeks.
