I dont want to make this a 'look I told you so scenario' because I would rather be wrong. I get your premise and I agree with it. I felt this team was not wanting to play for this coach for some time. I saw it as early as the 3rd game of the year. He lost them around the bubble and hasnt gotten them back.

The team needs a shakeup desperately. I dont think it can be any more clear.
