This is more of an in general comment, but this game is kind of an example of the entire season...

This team looks so blah. Foerster, Frost, Farabee (lesser extent tonight) look so tentative in the offensive zone. Tippett and TK look like they are trying but can't get out of 2nd gear. In general, it just looks like they are going thru the motions.

This team is better than they are currently showing, and at this point, I'd still bet on them to get better because they have actual NHL talent...But, they don't look like they give two collective shits. It doesn't look like they want to compete at all.

I just checked the stats, they are averaging 2.07 xGF/60 for all situations. League average is just under 3 (2.97 or so, give or take). Unless something changes this period, this will be the 6th game in a row below the league average. They are better than this.

So then the coaching is shit? Cause I do think they've got some good players as well

They have looked like this since the collapse last year. Seems obvious Torts has lost the room but no one will admit it, maybe not even to themselves.

"Going through the motions" is the best slogan possible for this team since Torts healthy scratched Couts.

It’s hard to imagine he’s not the main issue here.
