Man it puts a smile on my face to see Howden performing like this.

And man is it great to see this board get to know him and like what they see.

This reactions are exactly what I thought we’d see once everyone became familiar with him.

He's been going up against all the top centers and still has the same amount of ES points as Zib..

They won't come on that line he's on. On the pp he will bury one for sure. Unless he springs out on a breakaway or taps in a lucky one I don't see those linemates creating anything for him. He's gonna have to do it all on his own in the offensive zone.

You're right about that.

So, happy things:
ADA looks great
Howden looks great
Kreider looks great
Georgiev looks great
They're trying new things on the PP

I don't know that Brendan Smith even exists, which is exactly how I want my defensive defensemen to be. Invisible with maybe a randon +1 at the end of the night.

Staple 2C for the next decade?

He was my favourite player on Canada at the WJC this year.

I knew as soon as we picked him up that he was going to be one of my favourite Rangers; never realized how quickly that would happen though.

That’s why I really haven’t been keen on sending him down. He really doesn’t look like he’s in over his head out there.
Fine keep him up here but he needs to be either used much more on the pp (unlikely) or get new linemates.

idk why this is such an obsession? its usually play well --> score, not the other way around. playing a 4th line C game well isn't complicated, he should be able to execute it.

It's REALLY egregious because Anaheim looks every bit the team that quit on their coach and completely listless. Don't do anything stupid and this is an easy, easy, easy victory. Because it's hockey, Anaheim obviously scored on the ensuing PP to give them life.

But the board moms pre-emptively made the coach the bad guy even before the next even strength shift and it makes my head spin.
Life is too short to be worried about losing in a rebuilding year. And do you have an example of someone making Quinn the bad guy?

I felt Howden was going to really surprise people and it drove me nuts when people kept throwing stuff out there that was inaccurate or dated.

But even I have to admit that I didn’t think he’d come out of the gate quite this strong.

Sure? I didn't write it for no reason. But like you said, it's too short and I've been on the internet long enough to know no amount of proof of anything really matters anyway =P

Howden was a pretty important cog on a another great Canadian and as the games got bigger he performed better from what I remember. Its just great that he's caught on from the get go, not easy to do nor did I expect that. He's been a real bright spot thus far.

Yeah, I hear ya.

Quinn hasn't done anything to warrant people getting frustrated with him yet, and that includes scratching ADA and Buch.

If anything Quinn seems more fair with his judgments than AV ever was.
Really? He hasn’t done anything wrong tonight, but the only reason he is playing ADA is because of an injury. And why would he keep Buchnevich out today as well?

Same reason why Kotkaniemi isn't playing 4th line center in montreal. Chytil's skill and development in this league should be optimized with at least someone who has some offensive ability as his linemate. hate to kill Mcleod but he really doesn't have any.
